Hadith 2474 — Livre 14: Fasting (Kitab Al-Siyam)
كتاب الصوم
Rapporté par Abdullah ibn Umar رضي الله عنه : Omar رضي الله عنه avait fait le vœu, avant l’islam, de passer une nuit ou un jour en dévotion près de la Kaaba (dans la mosquée sacrée). Il a interrogé le Prophète ﷺ à ce sujet. Il a dit : « Accomplis l’i’tikaf (c’est-à-dire passe une nuit ou un jour près de la Kaaba) et jeûne. »

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بُدَيْلٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ، - رضى الله عنه - جَعَلَ عَلَيْهِ أَنْ يَعْتَكِفَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ لَيْلَةً أَوْ يَوْمًا عِنْدَ الْكَعْبَةِ فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ " اعْتَكِفْ وَصُمْ " .

Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar: Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) took a vow in the pre-Islamic days to spend a night or a day in devotion near the Ka'bah (in the sacred mosque). He asked the Prophet (ﷺ) about it. He said: Observe i'tikaf (i.e. spend a night or a day near the Ka'bah) and fast

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے زمانہ جاہلیت میں اپنے اوپر کعبہ کے پاس ایک دن اور ایک رات کے اعتکاف کی نذر مانی تھی تو انہوں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے دریافت کیا تو آپ نے فرمایا: اعتکاف کرو اور روزہ رکھو
