Hadith 635 — Livre 7: The Book of the Adhan (The Call to Prayer)
كتاب الأذان
Rapporté par Malik bin Al-Huwairith : Nous sommes venus voir le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) et nous étions de jeunes hommes proches en âge. Il nous a laissés rester avec lui pendant vingt jours. Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) était miséricordieux et compatissant, et il a pensé que nous étions nostalgiques de nos familles ; il nous a demandé des nouvelles de ceux que nous avions laissés derrière nous, alors nous lui avons raconté, et il a dit : « Retournez auprès de vos familles, restez avec elles et enseignez-leur. Dites-leur, quand l’heure de la prière arrive ; que l’un de vous fasse l’Adhan et que le plus âgé dirige la prière. »

أَخْبَرَنِي زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ الْحُوَيْرِثِ، قَالَ أَتَيْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَنَحْنُ شَبَبَةٌ مُتَقَارِبُونَ فَأَقَمْنَا عِنْدَهُ عِشْرِينَ لَيْلَةً وَكَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم رَحِيمًا رَفِيقًا فَظَنَّ أَنَّا قَدِ اشْتَقْنَا إِلَى أَهْلِنَا فَسَأَلَنَا عَمَّنْ تَرَكْنَاهُ مِنْ أَهْلِنَا فَأَخْبَرْنَاهُ فَقَالَ " ارْجِعُوا إِلَى أَهْليِكُمْ فَأَقِيمُوا عِنْدَهُمْ وَعَلِّمُوهُمْ وَمُرُوهُمْ إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلاَةُ فَلْيُؤَذِّنْ لَكُمْ أَحَدُكُمْ وَلْيَؤُمَّكُمْ أَكْبَرُكُمْ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that Malik bin Al-Huwairith said:"We came to the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) and we were young men close in age. He let us stay with him for twenty days. The Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) was merciful and compassionate, and he thought that we were missing our families; he asked us about those whom we had left behind of our families, so we told him, and he said: 'Go back to your families, stay with them and teach them. Tell them when the time for prayer comes; let one of you call the Adhan and let the oldest of you lead the prayer

مالک بن حویرث رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئے، ہم سب نوجوان اور ہم عمر تھے، ہم نے آپ کے پاس بیس روز قیام کیا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم رحیم ( بہت مہربان ) اور نرم دل تھے، آپ نے سمجھا کہ ہم اپنے گھر والوں کے مشتاق ہوں گے، تو آپ نے ہم سے پوچھا: ہم اپنے گھروں میں کن کن لوگوں کو چھوڑ کر آئے ہیں؟ ہم نے آپ کو بتایا تو آپ نے فرمایا: تم اپنے گھر والوں کے پاس واپس جاؤ، ( اور ) ان کے پاس رہو، اور ( جو کچھ سیکھا ہے اسے ) ان لوگوں کو بھی سیکھاؤ، اور جب نماز کا وقت آ پہنچے تو انہیں حکم دو کہ تم میں سے کوئی ایک اذان کہے، اور تم میں سے جو بڑا ہو وہ امامت کرے ۔
