Hadith 2344 — Livre 22: The Book of Fasting
كتاب الصيام
Rapporté par Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-As : Le Messager d'Allah ﷺ a dit : « Le jeûne le plus aimé d'Allah, le Tout-Puissant et Majestueux, est le jeûne de Dawud, paix sur lui. Il jeûnait un jour sur deux. Et la prière la plus aimée d'Allah, le Tout-Puissant et Majestueux, est la prière de Dawud, paix sur lui. Il dormait la moitié de la nuit, priait pendant un tiers, puis dormait le dernier sixième. »

أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَوْسٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ، يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " أَحَبُّ الصِّيَامِ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ صِيَامُ دَاوُدَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ كَانَ يَصُومُ يَوْمًا وَيُفْطِرُ يَوْمًا وَأَحَبُّ الصَّلاَةِ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ صَلاَةُ دَاوُدَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ كَانَ يَنَامُ نِصْفَ اللَّيْلِ وَيَقُومُ ثُلُثَهُ وَيَنَامُ سُدُسَهُ " .
Traduction anglaise
Abdullah bin 'Amr bin Al-As said:"The Messenger of Allah said: 'The most beloved fasting to Allah, the mighty and sublime, is the fast of Dawud, peace be upon him. He used to fast one day and not the next. And the most beloved prayer to Allah, the mighty and sublime, is the prayer of Dawud, peace be upon him. He used to sleep half the night, stand for one-third of it (in prayer), and sleep for one-sixth of it
Traduction en ourdou
عبداللہ بن عمرو بن العاص رضی الله عنہما کو کہتے سنا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”اللہ عزوجل کو روزوں میں سب سے زیادہ محبوب اور پسندیدہ روزے داود علیہ السلام کے تھے۔ وہ ایک دن روزہ رکھتے تھے، اور ایک دن بغیر روزہ کے رہتے تھے، اور اللہ تعالیٰ کے نزدیک سب سے محبوب نماز بھی داود علیہ السلام کی نماز تھی، وہ آدھی رات سوتے تھے اور تہائی رات قیام کرتے تھے، اور رات کے چھٹویں حصہ میں پھر سوتے تھے“۔
