Rapporté par Khalid ibn Umair رضي الله عنه, qui a connu la période préislamique : ‘Uqba ibn Ghazwan fit ce discours alors qu’il était gouverneur de Bassora. Le reste du hadith est identique à celui transmis par Shaiban

وَحَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ عُمَرَ بْنِ سَلِيطٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ الْمُغِيرَةِ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدُ بْنُ، هِلاَلٍ عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ عُمَيْرٍ، وَقَدْ أَدْرَكَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةَ قَالَ خَطَبَ عُتْبَةُ بْنُ غَزْوَانَ وَكَانَ أَمِيرًا عَلَى الْبَصْرَةِ . فَذَكَرَ نَحْوَ حَدِيثِ شَيْبَانَ .
Traduction anglaise
Khalid b. 'Umair reported and he had seen the pre-Islamic days also, that 'Uqba b. Ghazwan delivered this address and he was the governor of Basra. The rest of the hadith is the same as transmitted by Shaiban

اسحٰق بن عمر بن سلیط نے مجھے حدیث بیان کی ، کہا : ہمیں سلیمان بن مغیرہ نے حدیث بیان کی کہا : ہمیں حمید بن بلال نے خالد بن عمیر سے جنھوں نے جاہلیت کا زمانہ دیکھا تھا روایت کی کہا : حضرت عتبہ بن غزوان رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے ہمیں خطبہ دیا وہ اس وقت بصرہ کے امیرتھے ۔ ( آگے ) شیبان کی حدیث کی طرح بیان کیا ۔
