Hadith 984 — Livre 5: Establishing the Prayer and the Sunnah Regarding Them
كتاب إقامة الصلاة والسنن فيها
Rapporté par Abu Mas’ud : Un homme est venu voir le Prophète (ﷺ) et a dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah ! Je ne viens pas à la prière du matin en groupe à cause d’untel, car il la rend trop longue pour nous. » Je n’ai jamais vu le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) prêcher avec autant de colère que ce jour-là. Il a dit : « Ô gens ! Certains parmi vous font fuir les autres. Celui d’entre vous qui dirige la prière doit la raccourcir, car il y a parmi eux des personnes faibles, âgées et d’autres qui ont des besoins urgents. »

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ أَتَى النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لأَتَأَخَّرُ فِي صَلاَةِ الْغَدَاةِ مِنْ أَجْلِ فُلاَنٍ لِمَا يُطِيلُ بِنَا فِيهَا . قَالَ فَمَا رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَطُّ فِي مَوْعِظَةٍ أَشَدَّ غَضَبًا مِنْهُ يَوْمَئِذٍ " يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّ مِنْكُمْ مُنَفِّرِينَ فَأَيُّكُمْ مَا صَلَّى بِالنَّاسِ فَلْيُجَوِّزْ فَإِنَّ فِيهِمُ الضَّعِيفَ وَالْكَبِيرَ وَذَا الْحَاجَةِ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that Abu Mas’ud said:“A man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: ‘O Messenger of Allah! I stay behind and do not perform the morning prayer (in congregation) because of so-and-so, for he makes it too long for us.’ I never saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) preaching with such anger as he did that day. He said; ‘O people! There are among you those who repel others. Whoever among you leads others in prayer, let him keep it short, for among them are those who are weak and elderly, and those who have pressing needs.’”
Traduction en ourdou
ابومسعود انصاری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس ایک آدمی آیا، اور اس نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! میں فلاں شخص کی وجہ سے فجر کی نماز میں دیر سے جاتا ہوں، اس لیے کہ وہ نماز کو بہت لمبی کر دیتا ہے، ابومسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو اتنا سخت غضبناک کبھی بھی کسی وعظ و نصیحت میں نہیں دیکھا جتنا اس دن دیکھا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: لوگو! تم میں کچھ لوگ نفرت دلانے والے ہیں، لہٰذا تم میں جو کوئی لوگوں کو نماز پڑھائے ہلکی پڑھائے، اس لیے کہ لوگوں میں کمزور، بوڑھے اور ضرورت مند سبھی ہوتے ہیں ۱؎۔
