Hadith 983 — Livre 5: Establishing the Prayer and the Sunnah Regarding Them
كتاب إقامة الصلاة والسنن فيها
Rapporté par Abu ‘Ali Al-Hamdani : Il est parti en bateau avec ‘Uqbah bin ‘Amir Al-Juhani. L’heure de la prière est arrivée, et nous lui avons demandé de nous diriger en disant : « Tu es le plus digne de cela, tu as été le Compagnon du Messager d’Allah (ﷺ). » Mais il a refusé et a dit : « J’ai entendu le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) dire : “Celui qui dirige les gens et le fait correctement, la prière comptera pour lui et pour eux, mais s’il fait des erreurs, cela sera contre lui et non contre eux.” »

حَدَّثَنَا مُحْرِزُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ الْعَدَنِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ حَرْمَلَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي عَلِيٍّ الْهَمْدَانِيِّ، أَنَّهُ خَرَجَ فِي سَفِينَةٍ فِيهَا عُقْبَةُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ الْجُهَنِيُّ فَحَانَتْ صَلاَةٌ مِنَ الصَّلَوَاتِ فَأَمَرْنَاهُ أَنْ يَؤُمَّنَا وَقُلْنَا لَهُ إِنَّكَ أَحَقُّنَا بِذَلِكَ أَنْتَ صَاحِبُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَأَبَى فَقَالَ إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يَقُولُ " مَنْ أَمَّ النَّاسَ فَأَصَابَ، فَالصَّلاَةُ لَهُ وَلَهُمْ، وَمَنِ انْتَقَصَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ شَيْئًا فَعَلَيْهِ، وَلاَ عَلَيْهِمْ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated from Abu ‘Ali Al-Hamdani that he went out in a ship in which ‘Uqbah bin ‘Amir Al-Juhani was present. The time for prayer came, and we told him to lead us in prayer and said to him:“You are the most deserving of that, you were the Companion of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).” But he refused and said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ‘Whoever leads the people and gets it right, the prayer will be for him and for them, but if he falls short, then that will be counted against him but not against them.”
Traduction en ourdou
ابوعلی ہمدانی سے روایت ہے کہ وہ ایک کشتی میں نکلے، اس میں عقبہ بن عامر جہنی رضی اللہ عنہ بھی تھے، اتنے میں نماز کا وقت ہو گیا، ہم نے ان سے عرض کیا کہ آپ ہماری امامت کریں، آپ اس کے زیادہ حقدار ہیں اس لیے کہ آپ صحابی رسول ہیں، انہوں نے امامت سے انکار کیا، اور بولے: میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے سنا: جس نے لوگوں کی امامت کی اور صحیح طریقہ سے کی تو یہ نماز اس کے لیے اور مقتدیوں کے لیے بھی باعث ثواب ہے، اور اگر اس نے نماز میں کوئی کوتاہی کی تو اس کا وبال امام پر ہو گا، اور مقتدیوں پر کچھ نہ ہو گا ۔
