Hadith 2783 — Livre 24: The Chapters on Jihad
كتاب الجهاد
Rapporté par Abu Musa : On a interrogé le Prophète (ﷺ) au sujet d’un homme qui combat pour montrer son courage, ou par fierté et honneur pour ses proches, ou pour se faire remarquer. Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit : « Celui qui combat pour que la Parole d’Allah soit la plus élevée, c’est lui qui combat dans la voie d’Allah. »

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ شَقِيقٍ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى، قَالَ سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنِ الرَّجُلِ يُقَاتِلُ شَجَاعَةً وَيُقَاتِلُ حَمِيَّةً وَيُقَاتِلُ رِيَاءً فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " مَنْ قَاتَلَ لِتَكُونَ كَلِمَةُ اللَّهِ هِيَ الْعُلْيَا فَهُوَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that Abu Musa said:“The Prophet (ﷺ) was asked about a man who fights to prove his courage, or out of pride and honour for his close relatives, or to show off. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘Whoever fights so that the Word of Allah may be supreme is the one who (is fighting) in the cause of Allah.’”
Traduction en ourdou
ابوموسیٰ اشعری رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اس شخص کے بارے میں پوچھا گیا جو بہادری کی شہرت کے لیے لڑتا ہے، اور جو خاندانی عزت کی خاطر لڑتا ہے، اور جس کا مقصد ریا و نمود ہوتا ہے، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اللہ کے کلمے کی بلندی کے مقصد سے جو لڑتا ہے وہی مجاہد فی سبیل اللہ ہے ۱؎۔
