Rapporté par 'Uthman bin 'Affan : Je vendais des dattes au marché et je disais : "J’ai acheté cette quantité." Je donnais à l’acheteur une quantité précise de dattes, selon la mesure qui m’avait été faite, et je prenais mon bénéfice. Ensuite, j’ai commencé à douter de cette pratique, alors j’ai interrogé le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ), et il a dit : "Quand tu annonces la quantité, mesure-la devant l’acheteur

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ الرَّقِّيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ ابْنِ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ وَرْدَانَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ، قَالَ كُنْتُ أَبِيعُ التَّمْرَ فِي السُّوقِ فَأَقُولُ كِلْتُ فِي وَسْقِي هَذَا كَذَا . فَأَدْفَعُ أَوْسَاقَ التَّمْرِ بِكَيْلِهِ وَآخُذُ شِفِّي فَدَخَلَنِي مِنْ ذَلِكَ شَىْءٌ فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَقَالَ " إِذَا سَمَّيْتَ الْكَيْلَ فَكِلْهُ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that 'Uthman bin 'Affan said:"I used to sell dates in the marketplace, and I would say: 'This was such and such an amount (when I bought it).' I Would give the purchaser a specific amount of dates according to the way it had been measured for me, and take my profit. Then I began to have some doubts about that, so I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and he said: ‘When you name the amount, measure it in front of the purchaser
Traduction en ourdou
عثمان بن عفان رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں بازار میں کھجور بیچتا تھا، تو میں ( خریدار سے ) کہتا: میں نے اپنے اس ٹوکرے میں اتنا ناپ رکھا ہے، چنانچہ اسی حساب سے میں کھجور کے ٹوکرے دے دیتا، اور جو زائد ہوتا نکال لیا کرتا تھا، پھر مجھے اس میں کچھ شبہ معلوم ہوا، تو میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا: آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: جب تم کہو کہ اس میں اتنے صاع ہیں تو اس کو خریدنے والے کے سامنے ناپ دیا کرو ۔
