Hadith 4410 — Livre 40: Prescribed Punishments (Kitab Al-Hudud)
كتاب الحدود
Rapporté par Jabir ibn Abdullah رضي الله عنه : Un voleur fut amené au Prophète ﷺ. Il dit : « Tuez-le. » Les gens dirent : « Il a commis un vol, Messager d’Allah ! » Alors il dit : « Coupez-lui la main. » Sa main droite fut donc coupée. Il fut amené une seconde fois et il dit : « Tuez-le. » Les gens dirent : « Il a commis un vol, Messager d’Allah ! » Alors il dit : « Coupez-lui le pied. » Son pied gauche fut donc coupé. Il fut amené une troisième fois et il dit : « Tuez-le. » Les gens dirent : « Il a commis un vol, Messager d’Allah ! » Alors il dit : « Coupez-lui la main. » (Sa main gauche fut donc coupée.) Il fut amené une quatrième fois et il dit : « Tuez-le. » Les gens dirent : « Il a commis un vol, Messager d’Allah ! » Alors il dit : « Coupez-lui le pied. » Son pied droit fut donc coupé. Il fut amené une cinquième fois et il dit : « Tuez-le. » Nous l’avons alors emmené et tué. Ensuite, nous l’avons traîné, jeté dans un puits et lancé des pierres sur lui

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ عَقِيلٍ الْهِلاَلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا جَدِّي، عَنْ مُصْعَبِ بْنِ ثَابِتِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ جِيءَ بِسَارِقٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ " اقْتُلُوهُ " . فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّمَا سَرَقَ . فَقَالَ " اقْطَعُوهُ " . قَالَ فَقُطِعَ ثُمَّ جِيءَ بِهِ الثَّانِيَةَ فَقَالَ " اقْتُلُوهُ " . فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّمَا سَرَقَ . فَقَالَ " اقْطَعُوهُ " . قَالَ فَقُطِعَ ثُمَّ جِيءَ بِهِ الثَّالِثَةَ فَقَالَ " اقْتُلُوهُ " . فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّمَا سَرَقَ . قَالَ " اقْطَعُوهُ " . ثُمَّ أُتِيَ بِهِ الرَّابِعَةَ فَقَالَ " اقْتُلُوهُ " . فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّمَا سَرَقَ . قَالَ " اقْطَعُوهُ " . فَأُتِيَ بِهِ الْخَامِسَةَ فَقَالَ " اقْتُلُوهُ " . قَالَ جَابِرٌ فَانْطَلَقْنَا بِهِ فَقَتَلْنَاهُ ثُمَّ اجْتَرَرْنَاهُ فَأَلْقَيْنَاهُ فِي بِئْرٍ وَرَمَيْنَا عَلَيْهِ الْحِجَارَةَ .
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah: A thief was brought to the Prophet (ﷺ). He said: Kill him. The people said: He has committed theft, Messenger of Allah! Then he said: Cut off his hand. So his (right) hand was cut off. He was brought a second time and he said: Kill him. The people said: He has committed theft, Messenger of Allah! Then he said: Cut off his foot. So his (left) foot was cut off. He was brought a third time and he said: Kill him. The people said: He has committed theft, Messenger of Allah! So he said: Cut off his hand. (So his (left) hand was cut off.) He was brought a fourth time and he said: Kill him. The people said: He has committed theft, Messenger of Allah! So he said: Cut off his foot. So his (right) foot was cut off. He was brought a fifth time and he said: Kill him. So we took him away and killed him. We then dragged him and cast him into a well and threw stones over him

جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس ایک چور لایا گیا، آپ نے فرمایا: اسے قتل کر دو لوگوں نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! اس نے صرف چوری کی ہے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اس کا ہاتھ کاٹ دو تو اس کا ہاتھ کاٹ دیا گیا، پھر اسی شخص کو دوسری بار لایا گیا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اسے قتل کر دو لوگوں نے پھر یہی کہا: اللہ کے رسول! اس نے صرف چوری ہی کی ہے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اچھا اس کا ہاتھ کاٹ دو تو اس کا ہاتھ کاٹ دیا گیا، پھر وہی شخص تیسری بار لایا گیا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اس کو قتل کر دو لوگوں نے کہا: اللہ کے رسول! اس نے صرف چوری ہی تو کی ہے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اچھا اس کا ایک پیر کاٹ دو پھر اسے پانچویں بار لایا گیا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اسے قتل کر دو ۔ جابر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں: ہم اسے لے گئے اور ہم نے اسے قتل کر دیا، اور گھسیٹ کر اسے ایک کنویں میں ڈال دیا، اور اس پر پتھر مارے۔
