La tradition mentionnée ci-dessus a aussi été transmise par Ibn Ishaq à travers une autre chaîne de transmetteurs, avec le même sens. Au lieu de la phrase « celui qui m’a transmis ce récit », cette version dit : « Un homme parmi les Compagnons du Prophète ﷺ, et c’était probablement Abu Sa’id Al Khudri. Je l’ai vu frapper les racines des palmiers. »

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الدَّارِمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا وَهْبٌ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، بِإِسْنَادِهِ وَمَعْنَاهُ إِلاَّ أَنَّهُ قَالَ عِنْدَ قَوْلِهِ مَكَانَ الَّذِي حَدَّثَنِي هَذَا فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَأَكْثَرُ ظَنِّي أَنَّهُ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ فَأَنَا رَأَيْتُ الرَّجُلَ يَضْرِبُ فِي أُصُولِ النَّخْلِ .
Traduction anglaise
The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Ibn Ishaq through a different chain of narrators and to the same effect. Instead of the phrase “one who transmitted this tradition to me” this version has “A man from among the Companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) and probably he was Abu Sa’id Al Khudri. I saw the man striking at the roots of the palm trees.”

ابن اسحاق اسی سند سے اسی مفہوم کی حدیث روایت کرتے ہیں مگر اس میں «الذي حدثني هذا» کی جگہ یوں ہے، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے صحابہ میں سے ایک شخص نے کہا: میرا گمان غالب یہ ہے کہ وہ ابو سعید خدری رضی اللہ عنہ رہے ہوں گے کہ میں نے اس آدمی کو دیکھا کہ وہ اپنے درختوں کی جڑیں کاٹ رہا ہے۔
