Hadith 497 — Livre 2: Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat)
كتاب الصلاة
Rapporté par Mu'adh ibn Abdullah ibn Khubayb al-Juhani : Hisham ibn Sa'd rapporte : Nous sommes entrés chez Mu'adh ibn Abdullah ibn Khubayb al-Juhani. Il demanda à sa femme : « À quel âge un garçon doit-il prier ? » Elle répondit : « Quelqu’un parmi nous a rapporté que le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a été interrogé à ce sujet ; il a dit : “Quand un garçon distingue sa main droite de sa main gauche, alors ordonnez-lui de prier.” »

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَهْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاذُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ خُبَيْبٍ الْجُهَنِيُّ، قَالَ دَخَلْنَا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالَ لاِمْرَأَتِهِ مَتَى يُصَلِّي الصَّبِيُّ فَقَالَتْ كَانَ رَجُلٌ مِنَّا يَذْكُرُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ " إِذَا عَرَفَ يَمِينَهُ مِنْ شِمَالِهِ فَمُرُوهُ بِالصَّلاَةِ " .
Traduction anglaise
Narrated Mu'adh ibn Abdullah ibn Khubayb al-Juhani: Hisham ibn Sa'd reported: We entered upon Mu'adh ibn Abdullah ibn Khubayb al-Juhani. He said to his wife: When (at what age) should a boy pray? She replied: Some person of us reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) was asked about it; he said: When a boy distinguishes right hand from the left hand, then command him to pray

ہشام بن سعد کا بیان ہے کہ مجھ سے معاذ بن عبداللہ بن خبیب جہنی نے بیان کیا، ہشام کہتے ہیں: ہم معاذ کے پاس آئے تو انہوں نے اپنی بیوی سے پوچھا: بچے کب نماز پڑھنا شروع کریں؟ تو انہوں نے کہا: ہم میں سے ایک شخص رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے نقل کر رہا تھا کہ اس کے متعلق آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے پوچھا گیا تو آپ نے فرمایا: جب بچہ اپنے داہنے اور بائیں ہاتھ میں تمیز کرنے لگے تو تم اسے نماز کا حکم دو ۔
