Hadith 498 — Livre 2: Prayer (Kitab Al-Salat)

Rapporté par AbuUmayr ibn Anas : AbuUmayr rapporte d’après son oncle, qui faisait partie des Ansar (les auxiliaires du Prophète) : Le Prophète ﷺ cherchait un moyen de rassembler les gens pour la prière. Les gens lui proposèrent : « Hisse un drapeau à l’heure de la prière ; quand ils le verront, ils se préviendront les uns les autres. » Mais il n’a pas aimé cette idée. Quelqu’un lui parla alors du cor. Ziyad précisa : « Un cor des Juifs. » Il n’a pas aimé non plus et dit : « C’est une pratique des Juifs. » Ensuite, on lui parla de la cloche des chrétiens. Il dit : « C’est une pratique des chrétiens. » Abdullah ibn Zayd rentra alors chez lui, préoccupé par l’inquiétude du Messager d’Allah ﷺ. Il lui fut ensuite enseigné l’appel à la prière dans son rêve. Le lendemain, il alla voir le Messager d’Allah ﷺ et l’en informa. Il dit : « Messager d’Allah, j’étais entre le sommeil et l’éveil quand soudain un inconnu est venu et m’a appris l’appel à la prière. » Umar ibn al-Khattab avait aussi vu cela en rêve auparavant, mais il l’avait gardé pour lui pendant vingt jours. Le Prophète ﷺ lui dit : « Qu’est-ce qui t’a empêché de m’en parler ? » Il répondit : « Abdullah ibn Zayd t’en a déjà parlé avant moi, alors j’ai eu honte. » Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ dit alors : « Bilal, lève-toi, écoute ce qu’Abdullah ibn Zayd te dit, puis fais-le. » Bilal fit alors l’appel à la prière. AbuBishr rapporte d’après AbuUmayr : Les Ansar pensaient que si Abdullah ibn Zayd n’avait pas été malade ce jour-là, le Messager d’Allah ﷺ l’aurait nommé muezzin

حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ مُوسَى الْخُتَّلِيُّ، وَزِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، - وَحَدِيثُ عَبَّادٍ أَتَمُّ - قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، - قَالَ زِيَادٌ أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ، - عَنْ أَبِي عُمَيْرِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ عُمُومَةٍ، لَهُ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ قَالَ اهْتَمَّ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم لِلصَّلاَةِ كَيْفَ يَجْمَعُ النَّاسَ لَهَا فَقِيلَ لَهُ انْصِبْ رَايَةً عِنْدَ حُضُورِ الصَّلاَةِ فَإِذَا رَأَوْهَا آذَنَ بَعْضُهُمْ بَعْضًا فَلَمْ يُعْجِبْهُ ذَلِكَ قَالَ فَذُكِرَ لَهُ الْقُنْعُ - يَعْنِي الشَّبُّورَ - وَقَالَ زِيَادٌ شَبُّورَ الْيَهُودِ فَلَمْ يُعْجِبْهُ ذَلِكَ وَقَالَ " هُوَ مِنْ أَمْرِ الْيَهُودِ " . قَالَ فَذُكِرَ لَهُ النَّاقُوسُ فَقَالَ " هُوَ مِنْ أَمْرِ النَّصَارَى " . فَانْصَرَفَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ وَهُوَ مُهْتَمٌّ لِهَمِّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَأُرِيَ الأَذَانَ فِي مَنَامِهِ - قَالَ - فَغَدَا عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَأَخْبَرَهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لَبَيْنَ نَائِمٍ وَيَقْظَانَ إِذْ أَتَانِي آتٍ فَأَرَانِي الأَذَانَ . قَالَ وَكَانَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ - رضى الله عنه - قَدْ رَآهُ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ فَكَتَمَهُ عِشْرِينَ يَوْمًا - قَالَ - ثُمَّ أَخْبَرَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ لَهُ " مَا مَنَعَكَ أَنْ تُخْبِرَنِي " . فَقَالَ سَبَقَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ فَاسْتَحْيَيْتُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " يَا بِلاَلُ قُمْ فَانْظُرْ مَا يَأْمُرُكَ بِهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ فَافْعَلْهُ " . قَالَ فَأَذَّنَ بِلاَلٌ . قَالَ أَبُو بِشْرٍ فَأَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو عُمَيْرٍ أَنَّ الأَنْصَارَ تَزْعُمُ أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ زَيْدٍ لَوْلاَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَوْمَئِذٍ مَرِيضًا لَجَعَلَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مُؤَذِّنًا .

Narrated AbuUmayr ibn Anas: AbuUmayr reported on the authority of his uncle who was from the Ansar (the helpers of the Prophet): The Prophet (ﷺ) was anxious as to how to gather the people for prayer. The people told him: Hoist a flag at the time of prayer; when they see it, they will inform one another. But he (the Prophet) did not like it. Then someone mentioned to him the horn. Ziyad said: A horn of the Jews. He (the Prophet) did not like it. He said: This is the matter of the Jews. Then they mentioned to him the bell of the Christians. He said: This is the matter of the Christians. Abdullah ibn Zayd returned anxiously from there because of the anxiety of the Apostle (ﷺ). He was then taught the call to prayer in his dream. Next day he came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and informed him about it. He said: Messenger of Allah, I was between sleep and wakefulness; all of a sudden a newcomer came (to me) and taught me the call to prayer. Umar ibn al-Khattab had also seen it in his dream before, but he kept it hidden for twenty days. The Prophet (ﷺ) said to me (Umar): What did prevent you from saying it to me? He said: Abdullah ibn Zayd had already told you about it before me: hence I was ashamed. Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: Bilal, stand up, see what Abdullah ibn Zayd tells you (to do), then do it. Bilal then called them to prayer. AbuBishr reported on the authority of AbuUmayr: The Ansar thought that if Abdullah ibn Zayd had not been ill on that day, the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) would have made him mu'adhdhin

ابو عمیر بن انس اپنے ایک انصاری چچا سے روایت کرتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم فکرمند ہوئے کہ لوگوں کو کس طرح نماز کے لیے اکٹھا کیا جائے؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے عرض کیا گیا کہ نماز کا وقت ہونے پر ایک جھنڈا نصب کر دیجئیے، جسے دیکھ کر ایک شخص دوسرے کو باخبر کر دے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو یہ رائے پسند نہ آئی۔ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے ایک بگل ۱؎ کا ذکر کیا گیا، زیاد کی روایت میں ہے: یہود کے بگل ( کا ذکر کیا گیا ) تو یہ تجویز بھی آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو پسند نہیں آئی، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اس میں یہودیوں کی مشابہت ہے ۔ پھر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے ناقوس کا ذکر کیا گیا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اس میں نصرانیوں کی مشابہت ہے ۔ پھر عبداللہ بن زید بن عبدربہ رضی اللہ عنہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس سے لوٹے، وہ بھی ( اس مسئلہ میں ) رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی طرح فکرمند تھے، چنانچہ انہیں خواب میں اذان کا طریقہ بتایا گیا۔ عبداللہ بن زید رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں: وہ صبح تڑکے ہی رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئے، آپ کو اس خواب کی خبر دی اور آپ سے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! میں کچھ سو رہا تھا اور کچھ جاگ رہا تھا کہ اتنے میں ایک شخص ( خواب میں ) میرے پاس آیا اور اس نے مجھے اذان سکھائی، راوی کہتے ہیں: عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ اس سے پہلے یہ خواب دیکھ چکے تھے لیکن وہ اسے بیس دن تک چھپائے رہے، پھر انہوں نے اسے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو بتایا تو آپ نے ان سے فرمایا: تم کو کس چیز نے اسے بتانے سے روکا؟ ، انہوں نے کہا: چونکہ مجھ سے پہلے عبداللہ بن زید رضی اللہ عنہ نے اسے آپ سے بیان کر دیا اس لیے مجھے شرم آ رہی تھی ۲؎، اس پر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: بلال! اٹھو اور جیسے عبداللہ بن زید تم کو کرنے کو کہیں اسی طرح کرو ، چنانچہ بلال رضی اللہ عنہ نے اذان دی۳؎۔ ابوبشر کہتے ہیں کہ مجھ سے ابوعمیر نے بیان کیا کہ انصار سمجھتے تھے کہ اگر عبداللہ بن زید ان دنوں بیمار نہ ہوتے تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم ان ہی کو مؤذن بناتے۔
