Rapporté par Ibn ‘Abbas رضي الله عنه : Quand le Prophète ﷺ a jeûné le jour de ‘Ashura et nous a ordonné de jeûner ce jour-là, les Compagnons ont dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah, c’est un jour que les Juifs et les Chrétiens considèrent comme important. » Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a dit : « L’année prochaine, nous jeûnerons aussi le 9e jour de Mouharram. » Mais l’année suivante, le Messager d’Allah ﷺ est décédé

حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ الْمَهْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، أَنَّ إِسْمَاعِيلَ بْنَ أُمَيَّةَ الْقُرَشِيَّ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّهُ، سَمِعَ أَبَا غَطَفَانَ، يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، يَقُولُ حِينَ صَامَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ وَأَمَرَنَا بِصِيَامِهِ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهُ يَوْمٌ تُعَظِّمُهُ الْيَهُودُ وَالنَّصَارَى . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " فَإِذَا كَانَ الْعَامُ الْمُقْبِلُ صُمْنَا يَوْمَ التَّاسِعِ " . فَلَمْ يَأْتِ الْعَامُ الْمُقْبِلُ حَتَّى تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم .

Ibn 'Abbas said:When the Prophet (ﷺ) on the day of 'Ashurah and commanded us to fast on it, they (i.e. Companions) said: Messenger of Allah, this is a day which is considered great by Jews and Christians ? The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: When the next year comes, we shall fast on the 9th of Muharram. But the next year the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) breathed his last
Traduction en ourdou
عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ جس وقت رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے عاشوراء کے دن کا روزہ رکھا اور ہمیں بھی اس کے روزہ رکھنے کا حکم فرمایا تو لوگوں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! یہ ایسا دن ہے کہ یہود و نصاری اس دن کی تعظیم کرتے ہیں، یہ سن کر رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: اگلے سال ہم نویں محرم کا بھی روزہ رکھیں گے ، لیکن آئندہ سال نہیں آیا کہ آپ وفات فرما گئے
