Ce récit a également été transmis par Salamah bin Kuhail par une autre chaîne, avec le même sens. Dans cette version, à propos de faire connaître la trouvaille, il a dit : « Deux ans ou trois. » Il a ajouté : « Souviens-toi de son nombre, de sa bourse et de sa ficelle. » Cette version précise : « Si son propriétaire vient et indique son nombre et sa ficelle, alors rends-la-lui. » Abu Dawud a dit : Aucun des rapporteurs n’a mentionné cette phrase dans ce récit, sauf Hammad, c’est-à-dire : « S’il indique son nombre. »

حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ كُهَيْلٍ، بِإِسْنَادِهِ وَمَعْنَاهُ قَالَ فِي التَّعْرِيفِ قَالَ عَامَيْنِ أَوْ ثَلاَثَةً . وَقَالَ " اعْرِفْ عَدَدَهَا وَوِعَاءَهَا وَوِكَاءَهَا " . زَادَ " فَإِنْ جَاءَ صَاحِبُهَا فَعَرَفَ عَدَدَهَا وَوِكَاءَهَا فَادْفَعْهَا إِلَيْهِ " . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ لَيْسَ يَقُولُ هَذِهِ الْكَلِمَةَ إِلاَّ حَمَّادٌ فِي هَذَا الْحَدِيثِ يَعْنِي " فَعَرَفَ عَدَدَهَا " .
Traduction anglaise
The above mentioned tradition has also been transmitted by Salamah. Bin Kuhail through a different chain to the same effect. The version has ; about making the matter known he said ; “ two years or three.” He said :Remember its number, its container and its string. The version adds : If its owner comes, and tells its number and its string, then give it to him. Abu Dawud said : None of the narrators said this word in this tradition except Hammad ; That is, “ If he tells its number.”

حماد کہتے ہیں سلمہ بن کہیل نے ہم سے اسی سند سے اور اسی مفہوم کی حدیث بیان کی کی اس میں ہے: آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ( لقطہٰ کی ) پہچان کرانے کے سلسلے میں فرمایا: دو یا تین سال تک ( اس کی پہچان کراؤ ) ، اور فرمایا: اس کی تعداد جان لو اور اس کی تھیلی اور اس کے سر بندھن کی پہچان کر لو ، اس میں اتنا مزید ہے: اگر اس کا مالک آ جائے اور اس کی تعداد اور سر بندھن بتا دے تو اسے اس کے حوالے کر دو ۔ ابوداؤد کہتے ہیں: «فعرف عددها» کا کلمہ اس حدیث میں سوائے حماد کے کسی اور نے نہیں ذکر کیا ہے۔
