Hadith 4319 — Livre 42: The Book of Hunting and Slaughtering
كتاب الصيد والذبائح
Rapporté par Ibn 'Abbas : On lui a demandé s'il était permis de manger des varans. Il a dit : "Umm Hufaid a offert du gras, du fromage et des varans au Messager d'Allah, et il a mangé du gras et du fromage, mais il n'a pas mangé les varans car il n'aimait pas cela. S'ils étaient interdits, ils n'auraient pas été mangés à la table du Messager d'Allah et il n'aurait pas dit aux autres d'en manger

أَخْبَرَنَا زِيَادُ بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو بِشْرٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّهُ سُئِلَ عَنْ أَكْلِ الضِّبَابِ، فَقَالَ أَهْدَتْ أُمُّ حُفَيْدٍ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم سَمْنًا وَأَقِطًا وَأَضُبًّا فَأَكَلَ مِنَ السَّمْنِ وَالأَقِطِ وَتَرَكَ الضِّبَابَ تَقَذُّرًا لَهُنَّ فَلَوْ كَانَ حَرَامًا مَا أُكِلَ عَلَى مَائِدَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَلاَ أَمَرَ بِأَكْلِهِنَّ .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that:he was asked about eating mastigures. He said: "Umm Hufaid gave some cooking fat, cottage cheese, and mastigures to the Messenger of Allah and the ate some of the cooking fat and cottage cheese, but he did not eat the mastigures because he found them distasteful. If they were Haram they would not have been eaten at the table-spread of the Messenger of Allah and the would not have told others to eat them
