كتاب الوصايا
Rapporté par 'Amir bin Sa'd, d'après son père : Je suis tombé malade d'une maladie dont j'ai guéri plus tard. Le Messager d'Allah est venu me rendre visite, et j'ai dit : "Ô Messager d'Allah, j'ai beaucoup de biens et je n'ai pas d'héritier à part ma fille. Puis-je donner les deux tiers de mes biens en aumône ?" Il a dit : "Non." J'ai dit : "La moitié ?" Il a dit : "Non." J'ai dit : "Le tiers ?" Il a dit : "Donne un tiers, et un tiers c'est beaucoup. Il vaut mieux laisser tes héritiers à l'abri du besoin que de les laisser pauvres à tendre la main aux gens

أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ مَرِضْتُ مَرَضًا أَشْفَيْتُ مِنْهُ فَأَتَانِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَعُودُنِي فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ لِي مَالاً كَثِيرًا وَلَيْسَ يَرِثُنِي إِلاَّ ابْنَتِي أَفَأَتَصَدَّقُ بِثُلُثَىْ مَالِي قَالَ " لاَ ". قُلْتُ فَالشَّطْرَ قَالَ " لاَ ". قُلْتُ فَالثُّلُثَ قَالَ " الثُّلُثَ وَالثُّلُثُ كَثِيرٌ إِنَّكَ أَنْ تَتْرُكَ وَرَثَتَكَ أَغْنِيَاءَ خَيْرٌ لَهُمْ مِنْ أَنْ تَتْرُكَهُمْ عَالَةً يَتَكَفَّفُونَ النَّاسَ ".
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated from 'Amir bin Sa'd that his father said:"I became ill with a sickness from which I later recovered. The Messenger of Allah came to visit me, and I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I have a great deal of wealth and I have no heir except my daughter. Shall I give two-thirds of my wealth in charity?' He said: 'No.' I said: 'Half?' He said: 'No.' I said: 'One-third?' He said: '(Give) one-third, and one-third is a lot. It is better to leave your heirs independent of means, than to leave them poor and holding out their hands to people
Traduction en ourdou
سعد بن ابی وقاص رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں بیمار ہوا ایسا بیمار کہ مرنے کے قریب آ لگا، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم میری عیادت ( بیمار پرسی ) کے لیے تشریف لائے، تو میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! میرے پاس بہت سارا مال ہے اور ایک بیٹی کے علاوہ میرا کوئی وارث نہیں، تو کیا میں اپنا دو تہائی مال صدقہ کر دوں؟ آپ نے جواب دیا: ”نہیں“۔ میں نے کہا: آدھا؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”نہیں“۔ میں نے کہا: تو ایک تہائی کر دوں؟ آپ نے فرمایا: ”ہاں ایک تہائی، حالانکہ یہ بھی زیادہ ہی ہے“ تمہارا اپنے وارثین کو مالدار چھوڑ کر جانا انہیں محتاج چھوڑ کر جانے سے بہتر ہے کہ وہ لوگوں کے سامنے ہاتھ پھیلاتے پھریں“۔
