Hadith 3541 — Livre 27: The Book of Divorce
كتاب الطلاق
Rapporté par Zainab : Une femme a demandé à Umm Salamah et Umm Habibah si elle pouvait mettre du khôl pendant sa ‘Idda après le décès de son mari. Elle a dit : « Une femme est venue voir le Prophète ﷺ et l’a interrogé à ce sujet, et il a dit : “À l’époque de la Jahiliyyah, si le mari d’une femme mourait, l’une d’entre vous restait (en deuil) pendant un an, puis elle jetait un morceau de fumier et sortait. Maintenant, la période de deuil est de quatre mois et dix jours, jusqu’à ce que le délai prescrit soit accompli.” »

أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَرَبِيٍّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ زَيْنَبَ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً، سَأَلَتْ أُمَّ سَلَمَةَ وَأُمَّ حَبِيبَةَ أَتَكْتَحِلُ فِي عِدَّتِهَا مِنْ وَفَاةِ زَوْجِهَا فَقَالَتْ أَتَتِ امْرَأَةٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَسَأَلَتْهُ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ " قَدْ كَانَتْ إِحْدَاكُنَّ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ إِذَا تُوُفِّيَ عَنْهَا زَوْجُهَا أَقَامَتْ سَنَةً ثُمَّ قَذَفَتْ خَلْفَهَا بِبَعْرَةٍ ثُمَّ خَرَجَتْ وَإِنَّمَا هِيَ أَرْبَعَةُ أَشْهُرٍ وَعَشْرًا حَتَّى يَنْقَضِيَ الأَجَلُ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated from Zainab that a woman asked Umm Salamah and Umm Habibah whether she could put on kohl during her 'Iddah following her husband's death. She said:"A woman came to the Prophet and asked him about that, and he said: 'During the Jahiliyyah, if her husband died, one of you would stay (in mourning) for a year, then she would throw a piece of dung then come out. Rather it (the mourning period) is four months and ten days, until the term prescribed is fulfilled
Traduction en ourdou
زینب (زینب بنت ام سلمہ رضی الله عنہا) سے روایت ہے کہ ایک عورت نے ام المؤمنین ام حبیبہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے پوچھا: کیا کوئی عورت اپنے شوہر کے انتقال پر عدت گزارنے کے دوران سرمہ لگا سکتی ہے؟ تو انہوں نے بتایا: ایک عورت نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئی اور آپ سے یہی سوال کیا ( جو تم نے کیا ہے ) تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”زمانہ جاہلیت میں تم میں سے جس عورت کا شوہر اسے چھوڑ کر مر جاتا تھا تو وہ عورت سال بھر سوگ مناتی رہتی یہاں تک کہ وہ وقت آتا کہ وہ اپنے پیچھے مینگنی پھینکتی پھر وہ گھر سے نکلتی“۔ ( تب اس کی عدت پوری ہوتی ) اور مدت پوری ہونے تک یہ تو صرف چار مہینے دس دن ہیں ( سال بھر کے مقابل میں یہ کچھ بھی نہیں ) ۔
