Hadith 3091 — Livre 25: The Book of Jihad
كتاب الجهاد
Rapporté par Abu Hurairah : "Quand le Messager d'Allah est décédé et qu'Abu Bakr a été nommé calife, certains Arabes ont renié la foi. 'Umar a dit : 'Ô Abu Bakr ! Comment peux-tu combattre les gens alors que le Messager d'Allah a dit : J'ai reçu l'ordre de combattre les gens jusqu'à ce qu'ils disent La ilaha illallah (il n'y a de divinité digne d'adoration qu'Allah). Celui qui dit La ilaha illallah, sa vie et ses biens sont préservés de ma part, sauf dans les cas prévus par la loi, et son jugement appartient à Allah ?' Abu Bakr, رضي الله عنه, a répondu : 'Par Allah, je combattrai ceux qui séparent la prière de la Zakat, car la Zakat est un droit sur les biens. Par Allah, s'ils me refusent une petite chèvre qu'ils donnaient au Messager d'Allah, je les combattrai pour cela.' ('Umar a dit) : 'Par Allah, quand j'ai vu qu'Allah, le Puissant et Majestueux, avait ouvert le cœur d'Abu Bakr à ce combat, j'ai compris que c'était la vérité

أَخْبَرَنَا كَثِيرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، عَنِ الزُّبَيْدِيِّ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ لَمَّا تُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَاسْتُخْلِفَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ وَكَفَرَ مَنْ كَفَرَ مِنَ الْعَرَبِ قَالَ عُمَرُ يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ كَيْفَ تُقَاتِلُ النَّاسَ وَقَدْ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " أُمِرْتُ أَنْ أُقَاتِلَ النَّاسَ حَتَّى يَقُولُوا لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ فَمَنْ قَالَ لاَ إِلَهَ إِلاَّ اللَّهُ عَصَمَ مِنِّي نَفْسَهُ وَمَالَهُ إِلاَّ بِحَقِّهِ وَحِسَابُهُ عَلَى اللَّهِ " . قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرٍ رضى الله عنه وَاللَّهِ لأُقَاتِلَنَّ مَنْ فَرَّقَ بَيْنَ الصَّلاَةِ وَالزَّكَاةِ فَإِنَّ الزَّكَاةَ حَقُّ الْمَالِ وَاللَّهِ لَوْ مَنَعُونِي عَنَاقًا كَانُوا يُؤَدُّونَهَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لَقَاتَلْتُهُمْ عَلَى مَنْعِهَا فَوَاللَّهِ مَا هُوَ إِلاَّ أَنْ رَأَيْتُ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَدْ شَرَحَ صَدْرَ أَبِي بَكْرٍ لِلْقِتَالِ وَعَرَفْتُ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ .
Traduction anglaise
Narrated It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:: “When the Messenger of Allah died and Abu Bakr was appointed as Khalifah, and some of the Arab’s disbelieved, Umar said: ‘O Abu Bakr! How can you fight the people when the Messenger of Allah said: I have been commanded to fight the people until they say La ilaha illallah (there is none worthy of worship except Allah). Whoever says La ilaha illallah, his life and his property are safe from me, except for its right, and his reckoning will be with Allah?’ Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, said: ‘By Allah, I will surely fight those who separate prayer and Zakah, for Zakah is what is due on wealth. By Allah, if they withhold from me a small she-goat that they used to give to the Messenger of Allah I will fight them for withholding it.’ (Umar said) ‘By Allah, when I realized that Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, had opened the chest of Abu Bakr to fighting, then I knew that it was the truth.’”

ابوہریرہ رضی الله عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ جب رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی وفات ہوئی اور ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ خلیفہ بنا دیئے گئے، اور عربوں میں سے جن کو کافر ہونا تھا وہ کافر ہو گئے ۱؎، تو عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: ابوبکر! آپ لوگوں سے کیسے جنگ کریں گے جب کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا ہے: ”مجھے تو لوگوں سے لڑنے کا اس وقت تک حکم دیا گیا ہے جب تک کہ لوگ «لا إله إلا اللہ» کے قائل نہ ہو جائیں، تو جس نے «لا إله إلا اللہ» کہہ لیا، اس نے اپنے مال اور اپنی جان کو ہم ( مسلمانوں ) سے محفوظ کر لیا ( اب اس کی جان و مال کو مسلمانوں سے کوئی خطرہ نہیں ) سوائے اس کے کہ وہ خود ہی ( اپنی غلط روی سے ) اس کا حق فراہم کر دے اور اس کا ( آخری ) حساب اللہ تعالیٰ کے ذمہ ہے“، ( اور یہ زکاۃ نہ دینے والے «لا إله إلا اللہ» کے قائل ہیں ) ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: قسم اللہ کی میں ہر اس شخص سے لڑوں گا جو نماز اور زکاۃ میں فرق کرے گا، ( یعنی نماز پڑھے گا اور زکاۃ دینے سے انکار کرے گا ) کیونکہ زکاۃ مال کا حق ہے، ( جس طرح نماز بدن کا حق ہے ) قسم اللہ کی، اگر لوگوں نے مجھے بکری کا سال بھر سے چھوٹا بچہ بھی دینے سے روکا جسے وہ زکاۃ میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو دیا کرتے تھے۔ تو اس روکنے پر بھی میں ان سے ضرور لڑوں گا۔ ( عمر کہتے ہیں: ) قسم اللہ کی اس معاملے کو تو میں نے ایسا پایا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے ابوبکر رضی اللہ عنہ کو قتال کے لیے شرح صدر بخشا ہے، اور میں نے سمجھ لیا کہ حق یہی ہے۔
