Hadith 2397 — Livre 22: The Book of Fasting
كتاب الصيام
Rapporté par 'Abdullah bin 'Amr : Le Messager d'Allah ﷺ a dit : "J'ai entendu dire que tu passes la nuit en prière et que tu jeûnes tous les jours." J'ai dit : "Ô Messager d'Allah, je ne voulais que le bien." Il a dit : "Celui qui jeûne tous les jours de sa vie n'a pas vraiment jeûné. Mais je vais te dire ce que signifie jeûner toute une vie : trois jours chaque mois." J'ai dit : "Ô Messager d'Allah, je peux faire plus." Il a dit : "Pratique le jeûne de Dawud, paix sur lui ; il jeûnait un jour et pas le suivant." 'Ata a ajouté : "Quelqu'un qui l'a entendu m'a dit qu'Ibn 'Umar a rapporté que le Prophète ﷺ a dit : Celui qui jeûne tous les jours de sa vie, alors il n'a pas vraiment jeûné

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَسْبَاطٍ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْعَبَّاسِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِنَّهُ بَلَغَنِي أَنَّكَ تَقُومُ اللَّيْلَ وَتَصُومُ النَّهَارَ " . قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ مَا أَرَدْتُ بِذَلِكَ إِلاَّ الْخَيْرَ . قَالَ " لاَ صَامَ مَنْ صَامَ الأَبَدَ وَلَكِنْ أَدُلُّكَ عَلَى صَوْمِ الدَّهْرِ ثَلاَثَةُ أَيَّامٍ مِنَ الشَّهْرِ " . قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي أُطِيقُ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ . قَالَ " صُمْ خَمْسَةَ أَيَّامٍ " . قُلْتُ إِنِّي أُطِيقُ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ . قَالَ " فَصُمْ عَشْرًا " . فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي أُطِيقُ أَكْثَرَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ . قَالَ " صُمْ صَوْمَ دَاوُدَ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ كَانَ يَصُومُ يَوْمًا وَيُفْطِرُ يَوْمًا " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that 'Abdullah bin 'Amr said:"The Messenger of Allah said: 'I have heard that you stand (in prayer) all night and fast all day.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I only meant good by that.' He said: 'One who fasts every day of his life has not truly fasted. But I will tell you what fasting for a lifetime means: Three days of every month.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I said: 'I am able to do more than that.' He said 'Observe the fast of Dawud, peace be upon him; he used to fast one day and not the next."' 'Ata said: "someone who heard him told me that Ibn 'Umar (said) that the Prophet said: 'Whoever fasts every day of his life, then he has not fasted
Traduction en ourdou
عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی الله عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: مجھے خبر ملی ہے کہ تم رات میں قیام کرتے ہو، اور دن کو روزہ رکھتے ہو؟ میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! میں نے اس سے خیر کا ارادہ کیا ہے، آپ نے فرمایا: ”جس نے ہمیشہ کا روزہ رکھا اس نے روزہ ہی نہیں رکھا، لیکن میں تمہیں بتاتا ہوں کہ ہمیشہ کا روزہ کیا ہے؟ یہ مہینہ میں صرف تین دن کا روزہ ہے“، میں نے عرض کیا: اللہ کے رسول! میں اس سے زیادہ کی طاقت رکھتا ہوں، آپ نے فرمایا: ”پانچ دن رکھ لیا کرو“، میں نے عرض کیا: میں اس سے بھی زیادہ کی طاقت رکھتا ہوں، آپ نے فرمایا: ”تو دس دن رکھ لیا کرو“، میں نے عرض کیا: میں اس سے بھی زیادہ کی طاقت رکھتا ہوں، آپ نے فرمایا: ”تم داود علیہ السلام کے روزے رکھا کرو“، وہ ایک دن روزہ رکھتے تھے اور ایک دن افطار کرتے تھے“۔
