Hadith 2231 — Livre 22: The Book of Fasting
كتاب الصيام
Rapporté par Mutarrif : Je suis entré chez 'Uthman bin Abi Al-As et il m’a proposé du lait. J’ai dit : "Je jeûne." Il a dit : "J’ai entendu le Messager d’Allah dire : 'Le jeûne est un bouclier, comme celui que l’un de vous utilise au combat.'" Abu Hurairah a dit : "Le Messager d’Allah a dit : 'Le jeûne est un bouclier.'" (Sahih)

أَخْبَرَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي هِنْدٍ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي الْعَاصِ فَدَعَا بِلَبَنٍ فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ . فَقَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " الصَّوْمُ جُنَّةٌ مِنَ النَّارِ كَجُنَّةِ أَحَدِكُمْ مِنَ الْقِتَالِ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that Mutarrif said:"I entered upon 'Uthman bin Abi Al-As and he called for milk. I said: I am fasting; He said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Fasting is a shield like the of any one of you in battle."' Abu Hurairah said: "The Messenger of Allah said: 'Fasting is a shield."' (Sahih)
Traduction en ourdou
مطرف کہتے ہیں کہ میں عثمان بن ابی العاص رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس آیا تو انہوں نے ( میری ضیافت کے لیے ) دودھ منگوایا، تو میں نے کہا: میں روزے سے ہوں، تو انہوں نے کہا کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو فرماتے ہوئے سنا ہے: ”روزہ آگ سے بچاؤ کے لیے کی ڈھال ہے جس طرح کہ تم میں سے کسی کے پاس لڑائی میں دشمن کے وار سے بچاؤ کے لیے ڈھال ہوتی ہے“۔
