كتاب قيام الليل والنوافل
Rapporté par Abdullah bin Umar : Un homme s’est levé et a dit : « Ô Messager d’Allah (ﷺ), comment doit-on faire les prières de la nuit ? » Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit : « Les prières de la nuit se font deux par deux, puis si tu crains que l’aube arrive, fais le witr avec une rak‘a. »

أَخْبَرَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْهَيْثَمِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْمَلَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، أَنَّ ابْنَ شِهَابٍ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ سَالِمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَحُمَيْدَ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَاهُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ قَامَ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ صَلاَةُ اللَّيْلِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " صَلاَةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى فَإِذَا خِفْتَ الصُّبْحَ فَأَوْتِرْ بِوَاحِدَةٍ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that Abdullah bin Umar said:"A man stood up and said: 'O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), how are the prayers at night to be done?' The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'Prayers at night are (offered) two by two, then if you fear that dawn will come, pray witr with one

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہم کہتے ہیں کہ ایک شخص نے کھڑے ہو کر پوچھا: اللہ کے رسول! رات کی نماز کیسے پڑھی جائے؟ تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: رات کی نماز دو دو رکعت ہے، اور جب تمہیں صبح ہو جانے کا خدشہ ہو تو ایک رکعت پڑھ کر وتر کر لو ۔
