Rapporté par Ibn Shihaab : Humaid bin Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf m’a dit qu’un homme parmi les compagnons du Prophète (ﷺ) a dit : "J’ai dit, alors que j’étais en voyage avec le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) : Par Allah (SWT), je vais observer la prière du Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) et voir ce qu’il fait. Quand il a prié ‘Isha, il s’est allongé longtemps. Puis il s’est réveillé, a regardé l’horizon et a dit : 'Notre Seigneur ! Tu n’as pas créé tout cela en vain' jusqu’à ce qu’il atteigne : 'car Tu ne manques jamais à Ta promesse.' Ensuite, le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a tendu la main vers son lit, a pris un siwak, puis a versé de l’eau d’un récipient et s’est nettoyé les dents. Puis il s’est levé et a prié jusqu’à ce que je dise : Il a prié aussi longtemps qu’il a dormi. Ensuite, il s’est allongé jusqu’à ce que je dise : Il a dormi aussi longtemps qu’il a prié. Puis il s’est réveillé et a fait la même chose que la première fois et a dit la même chose. Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a fait cela trois fois avant le Fajr

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ يُونُسَ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ قُلْتُ وَأَنَا فِي سَفَرٍ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَاللَّهِ لأَرْقُبَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لِصَلاَةٍ حَتَّى أَرَى فِعْلَهُ فَلَمَّا صَلَّى صَلاَةَ الْعِشَاءِ - وَهِيَ الْعَتَمَةُ - اضْطَجَعَ هَوِيًّا مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظَ فَنَظَرَ فِي الأُفُقِ فَقَالَ { رَبَّنَا مَا خَلَقْتَ هَذَا بَاطِلاً } حَتَّى بَلَغَ { إِنَّكَ لاَ تُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ } . ثُمَّ أَهْوَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِلَى فِرَاشِهِ فَاسْتَلَّ مِنْهُ سِوَاكًا ثُمَّ أَفْرَغَ فِي قَدَحٍ مِنْ إِدَاوَةٍ عِنْدَهُ مَاءً فَاسْتَنَّ ثُمَّ قَامَ فَصَلَّى حَتَّى قُلْتُ قَدْ صَلَّى قَدْرَ مَا نَامَ ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ حَتَّى قُلْتُ قَدْ نَامَ قَدْرَ مَا صَلَّى ثُمَّ اسْتَيْقَظَ فَفَعَلَ كَمَا فَعَلَ أَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَقَالَ مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ فَفَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ثَلاَثَ مَرَّاتٍ قَبْلَ الْفَجْرِ .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that Ibn Shihaab said:"Humaid bin Abdur-Rahman bin 'Awf told me that a man from among the companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'I said, when I was on a journey with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ): By Allah (SWT), I am going to watch the prayer of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and see what he does. When he prayed 'Isha, he lay down for a long time. Then he woke up and looked toward the horizon and said: "Our Lord! You have not created (all) this without purpose" until he reached: "for You never break (Your) Promise." Then the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) reached across his bed and took a siwak from it, then he poured water from a vessel and cleaned his teeth. Then he stood and prayed until I said: He has prayed for as long as he has slept. Then he lay down until I said: He has slept as long as he prayed. Then he woke up and did the same as he had done the first time and said the same as he had said. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did that three times before Fajr

حمید بن عبدالرحمٰن بن عوف سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے اصحاب میں سے ایک شخص کہتے ہیں کہ میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ ایک سفر میں تھا، میں نے اپنے جی میں کہا کہ اللہ کی قسم! میں نماز کے لیے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا انتظار کروں گا یہاں تک کہ آپ کے عمل کو دیکھ لوں، تو جب آپ نے عشاء کی نماز پڑھی، اور یہی عتمہ تھی، تو بڑی رات تک سوئے رہے، پھر آپ بیدار ہوئے توافق کی جانب نگاہ اٹھائی، اور فرمایا: «ربنا ما خلقت هذا باطلا» اے ہمارے رب! تو نے اسے بیکار پیدا نہیں کیا ہے ( آل عمران: ۱۹۱ ) یہاں تک کہ آپ «إنك لا تخلف الميعاد» بلاشبہ تو وعدہ خلافی نہیں کرتا ( آل عمران: ۱۹۴ ) تک پہنچے، پھر آپ اپنے بچھونے کی طرف جھکے، اور آپ نے اس میں سے ایک مسواک نکالی، پھر ڈول سے جو آپ کے پاس تھا ایک پیالے میں پانی انڈیلا، اور مسواک کی، پھر آپ کھڑے ہوئے، اور نماز پڑھی یہاں تک کہ میں نے ( اپنے دل میں ) کہا: آپ جتنی دیر تک سوئے تھے اتنی ہی دیر تک آپ نے نماز پڑھی ہے، پھر آپ لیٹ گئے یہاں تک کہ میں نے ( اپنے دل میں ) کہا: آپ اتنی ہی دیر تک سوئے ہیں جتنی دیر تک آپ نے نماز پڑھی تھی، پھر آپ بیدار ہوئے تو آپ نے اسی طرح کیا جس طرح آپ نے پہلی مرتبہ کیا تھا، اور اسی طرح کہا جس طرح پہلے کہا تھا، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فجر سے پہلے تین مرتبہ ( اسی طرح ) کیا۔
