Rapporté par 'Asim bin Humaid : J’ai demandé à 'Aishah par quoi il – c’est-à-dire le Prophète (ﷺ) – commençait le Qiyam Al-Lail. Elle a dit : "Tu m’as posé une question que personne ne m’avait posée avant toi. Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) disait le takbir dix fois, le tahmid dix fois, le tasbih dix fois, le tahlil dix fois, demandait pardon dix fois, et disait : Allahummaghfirli, wahdini, warzuqni wa 'afini. A'udhu billahi min diqil-maqami yawmal-qiyamah (Ô Allah, pardonne-moi, guide-moi, accorde-moi la subsistance et la santé. Je cherche refuge auprès d’Allah contre la difficulté du Jour de la Résurrection)

أَخْبَرَنَا عِصْمَةُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الأَزْهَرُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ حُمَيْدٍ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ بِمَا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَسْتَفْتِحُ قِيَامَ اللَّيْلِ قَالَتْ لَقَدْ سَأَلْتَنِي عَنْ شَىْءٍ مَا سَأَلَنِي عَنْهُ أَحَدٌ قَبْلَكَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُكَبِّرُ عَشْرًا وَيَحْمَدُ عَشْرًا وَيُسَبِّحُ عَشْرًا وَيُهَلِّلُ عَشْرًا وَيَسْتَغْفِرُ عَشْرًا وَيَقُولُ " اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَاهْدِنِي وَارْزُقْنِي وَعَافِنِي أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنْ ضِيقِ الْمَقَامِ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that 'Asim bin Humaid said:"I asked 'Aishah with what did he- meaning the Prophet (ﷺ)- start Qiyam Al-Lail? She said: 'You have asked me something which no one before you has asked. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say the takbir ten times, the tahmid ten times, the tasbih ten times, and the tahlil ten times, and pray for forgiveness ten times, and say: Allahummaghfirli, wahdini, warzuqni wa 'afini. A'udhu billahi min diqil-maqami yawmal-qiyamah (O Allah, forgive me, guide me, grant me provision and good health. I seek refuge with Allah from the difficulty of standing on the Day of Resurrection)

عاصم بن حمید کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے پوچھا: رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم رات کے قیام کی شروعات کس سے کرتے تھے؟ تو وہ کہنے لگیں، تو نے مجھ سے ایک ایسی چیز پوچھی ہے جو تم سے پہلے کسی نے نہیں پوچھی، رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم دس بار «اللہ اکبر»، دس بار «الحمد للہ»، دس بار «سبحان اللہ» اور دس بار «لا الٰہ الا اللہ» اور دس بار «استغفر اللہ» کہتے تھے، اور «اللہم اغفر لي واهدني وارزقني وعافني أعوذ باللہ من ضيق المقام يوم القيامة» اے اللہ! مجھے بخش دے، مجھے راہ دکھا، مجھے رزق عطا فرما، اور میری حفاظت فرما، میں اللہ کی پناہ چاہتا ہوں قیامت کے روز جگہ کی تنگی سے کہتے تھے۔
