Rapporté par Abdullah : « Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) nous a appris la prière. Il s’est levé et a prononcé le takbir, puis, lorsqu’il voulait s’incliner, il joignait ses mains et les plaçait entre ses genoux en s’inclinant. » La nouvelle est parvenue à Sa’d et il a dit : « Mon frère a dit vrai. Nous faisions cela, puis on nous a ordonné de faire autrement », c’est-à-dire de tenir les genoux

أَخْبَرَنَا نُوحُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الأَسْوَدِ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ عَلَّمَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم الصَّلاَةَ فَقَامَ فَكَبَّرَ فَلَمَّا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَرْكَعَ طَبَّقَ يَدَيْهِ بَيْنَ رُكْبَتَيْهِ وَرَكَعَ فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ سَعْدًا فَقَالَ صَدَقَ أَخِي قَدْ كُنَّا نَفْعَلُ هَذَا ثُمَّ أُمِرْنَا بِهَذَا يَعْنِي الإِمْسَاكَ بِالرُّكَبِ .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that Abdullah said:"The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) taught us the prayer. He stood up and said the takbir, and when he wanted to bow, he put his hands together and put his hands between his knees and bowed." News of that reached Sa'd and he said: "My brother has spoken the truth. We used to do that, then we were commanded to do this," meaning to hold the knees

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ہمیں نماز سکھائی، آپ کھڑے ہوئے اور آپ نے اللہ اکبر کہا، تو جب آپ نے رکوع کرنا چاہا تو اپنے ہاتھوں کو ملا کر اپنے دونوں گھٹنوں کے بیچ کر لیا، اور رکوع کیا، یہ بات سعد رضی اللہ عنہ کو معلوم ہوئی تو انہوں نے کہا: میرے بھائی نے سچ کہا، ہم پہلے ایسا ہی کرتے تھے، پھر ہمیں اس کا یعنی ہاتھوں سے گھٹنوں کو پکڑنے کا حکم دیا گیا۔
