Hadith 319 — Livre 1: The Book of Purification
كتاب الطهارة
Rapporté par Ibn ‘Abdur-Rahman bin Abza, d’après son père : Un homme est venu voir ‘Umar, qu’Allah l’agrée, et a dit : "Je suis devenu en état de Janabah et je ne trouve pas d’eau." ‘Umar a dit : "Ne prie pas." ‘Ammar a dit : "Ne te souviens-tu pas, ô Commandeur des Croyants, quand toi et moi étions en campagne, que nous sommes devenus en état de Janabah et n’avons pas trouvé d’eau. Tu n’as pas prié, mais moi, je me suis roulé dans la poussière puis j’ai prié. Quand nous sommes allés voir le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ), je lui ai raconté cela et il a dit : 'Cela t’aurait suffi,' puis le Prophète (ﷺ) a frappé la terre avec ses mains, a soufflé dessus et s’est essuyé le visage et les mains – (un des rapporteurs) Salamah n’était pas sûr s’il a dit jusqu’aux coudes ou juste les mains. – ‘Umar a dit : "Nous te laissons assumer ce que tu as pris sur toi." (Un des rapporteurs) Shu‘bah a dit : "Il disait les mains, le visage et les avant-bras." (Un autre) Mansur lui a dit : "Que dis-tu ? Personne ne mentionne les avant-bras sauf toi." Salamah n’était pas certain et a dit : "Je ne sais pas s’il a mentionné les avant-bras ou non

أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، وَسَلَمَةُ، عَنْ ذَرٍّ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبْزَى، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، جَاءَ إِلَى عُمَرَ - رضى الله عنه - فَقَالَ إِنِّي أَجْنَبْتُ فَلَمْ أَجِدِ الْمَاءَ . فَقَالَ عُمَرُ لاَ تُصَلِّ . فَقَالَ عَمَّارٌ أَمَا تَذْكُرُ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ إِذْ أَنَا وَأَنْتَ فِي سَرِيَّةٍ فَأَجْنَبْنَا فَلَمْ نَجِدْ مَاءً فَأَمَّا أَنْتَ فَلَمْ تُصَلِّ وَأَمَّا أَنَا فَتَمَعَّكْتُ فِي التُّرَابِ ثُمَّ صَلَّيْتُ فَلَمَّا أَتَيْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ " إِنَّمَا يَكْفِيكَ " . وَضَرَبَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِيَدَيْهِ إِلَى الأَرْضِ ثُمَّ نَفَخَ فِيهِمَا فَمَسَحَ بِهِمَا وَجْهَهُ وَكَفَّيْهِ - شَكَّ سَلَمَةُ وَقَالَ لاَ أَدْرِي فِيهِ إِلَى الْمِرْفَقَيْنِ أَوْ إِلَى الْكَفَّيْنِ - قَالَ عُمَرُ نُوَلِّيكَ مِنْ ذَلِكَ مَا تَوَلَّيْتَ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ كَانَ يَقُولُ الْكَفَّيْنِ وَالْوَجْهَ وَالذِّرَاعَيْنِ . فَقَالَ لَهُ مَنْصُورٌ مَا تَقُولُ فَإِنَّهُ لاَ يَذْكُرُ الذِّرَاعَيْنِ أَحَدٌ غَيْرُكَ . فَشَكَّ سَلَمَةُ فَقَالَ لاَ أَدْرِي ذَكَرَ الذِّرَاعَيْنِ أَمْ لاَ .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated from Ibn 'Abdur-Rahman bin Abza, from his father, that a man came to 'Umar, may Allah be please with him, and said:"I have become Junub and I cannot find any water." 'Umar said: "Do not pray." 'Ammar said: "Do you not remember, O Commander of the Believers, when you and I were on a campaign and became Junub, and we could not find any water. You did not pray, but I rolled in the dust then prayed. When we came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) I told him about that and he said: 'This would have been sufficient for you,' and then Prophet (ﷺ) struck the earth with his hands then blew on them and wiped his face and hands - (one of the narrators) Salamah was uncertain and said: "I do not know if he said it should be up to the elbows or just the hands." - 'Umar said: "We will let you bear the burden of what you took upon yourself." (One of the narrators) Shu'bah said: "He used to say the hands, face and forearms." (Another) Mansur said to him: "What are you saying? No one mentions the forearms except you." Salamah was not certain and said: "I do not know whether he mentioned the forearms or not
Traduction en ourdou
عبدالرحمٰن بن ابزی رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ایک شخص عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کے پاس آیا، اور کہنے لگا: میں جنبی ہو گیا ہوں، اور مجھے پانی نہیں ملا ( کیا کروں؟ ) تو عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: ( جب تک پانی نہ ملے ) تم نماز نہ پڑھو، اس پر عمار رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: امیر المؤمنین! کیا آپ کو یاد نہیں؟ جب میں اور آپ دونوں ایک سریہ میں تھے، تو ہم جنبی ہو گئے، اور ہمیں پانی نہیں ملا، تو آپ نے تو نماز نہیں پڑھی، لیکن میں نے مٹی میں لوٹ پوٹ لیا، پھر میں نے نماز پڑھ لی، تو جب ہم رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں آئے تو میں نے آپ سے اس کا ذکر کیا، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تمہارے لیے بس اتنا ہی کافی تھا ، اور نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے زمین پر اپنے دونوں ہاتھ مارے، پھر ان میں پھونک ماری، پھر ان دونوں سے اپنے چہرے اور اپنی دونوں ہتھیلیوں کا مسح کیا۔ سلمہ نے شک کیا اور کہا: مجھے نہیں معلوم کہ ( میرے شیخ ذر نے دونوں کہنیوں تک مسح کا ذکر کیا یا دونوں ہتھیلیوں تک ) ۔ عمر رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: اس سلسلہ میں جو تم کہہ رہے ہو اس کی ذمہ داری ہم تمہارے ہی سر ڈالتے ہیں شعبہ کہتے ہیں: سلمہ دونوں ہتھیلیوں، چہرے اور دونوں بازؤوں کا ذکر کر رہے تھے، تو منصور نے ان سے کہا: یہ آپ کیا کہہ رہے ہیں؟ آپ کے سوا کسی اور نے بازؤوں کا ذکر نہیں کیا ہے، تو سلمہ شک میں پڑ گئے اور کہنے لگے مجھے نہیں معلوم کہ ( ذر نے ) بازؤوں کا ذکر کیا یا نہیں؟۔
