كتاب قصر الصلاة
Mahmoud Ibn Al-Rabi Al-Ansari a rapporté que Itban Ibn Malek, présidait la prière de ses contribules, alors qu'il était aveugle, il a dit à l'Envoyé d'Allah (salallahou alayhi wa salam) r (Sur lui la grâce et la paix d'Allah): «Il arrive parfois que la nuit soit obscure, et que le temps soit pluvieux et qu'il y ait beaucoup d'eau dehors, et je suis aveugle, rendez-vous chez moi, ô Envoyé d'Allah et faites la prière dans un endroit que je le prenne comme oratoire». L'Envoyé d'Allah (salallahou alayhi wa salam) (Sur lui la grâce et la paix d'Allah) alla chez Itban et lui dit: «Où veux-tu que je prie»? Il lui indiqua un coin de la maison, où l'Envoyé d'Allah (salallahou alayhi wa salam) r (Sur lui la grâce et la paix d'Allah) fit la prière»

وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ مَحْمُودِ بْنِ الرَّبِيعِ الأَنْصَارِيِّ، أَنَّ عِتْبَانَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، كَانَ يَؤُمُّ قَوْمَهُ وَهُوَ أَعْمَى وَأَنَّهُ قَالَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِنَّهَا تَكُونُ الظُّلْمَةُ وَالْمَطَرُ وَالسَّيْلُ وَأَنَا رَجُلٌ ضَرِيرُ الْبَصَرِ فَصَلِّ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فِي بَيْتِي مَكَانًا أَتَّخِذْهُ مُصَلًّى . فَجَاءَهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ " أَيْنَ تُحِبُّ أَنْ أُصَلِّيَ " . فَأَشَارَ لَهُ إِلَى مَكَانٍ مِنَ الْبَيْتِ فَصَلَّى فِيهِ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم .
Traduction anglaise
Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Mahmud ibn Rabi al-Ansari that Utban ibn Malik, who was a blind man, used to lead his people in prayer, and he said to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, "Sometimes it is dark and rainy and there is a lot of water around outside, and I am a man who has lost his sight. Messenger of Allah, pray in a certain place in my house so that I can take it as a place to pray." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came to him and said, "Where would you like me to pray?" He indicated a place to him and the Messengerof Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, prayed there

محمود بن لبید انصاری سے روایت ہے کہ عتبان بن مالک امامت کرتے تھے اپنی قوم کی اور ان کی بینائی میں ضعف تھا کہا انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کبھی اندھیرا یا پانی یا بہاؤ ہوتا ہے اور میری بینائی میں فرق ہے تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم میرے گھر میں کسی مقام پر نماز پڑھ دیجئے تاکہ میں اس جگہ کو اپنا مصلی بناؤں پس رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم تشریف لائے اور کہا کس جگہ تم میری نماز پڑھنا پسند کرتے ہو انہوں نے ایک جگہ بتادی آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے وہاں نماز پڑھ دی۔
