كتاب صلاة رمضان
Abou Houraira a rapporté que l'Envoyé d'Allah (salallahou alayhi wa salam) r (Sur lui la grâce et la paix d'Allah) désirait passer les nuits de Ramadan en priant, sans qu'il impose de telles prières aux musulmans. Il leur dit: «Celui qui passe les nuits de Ramadan avec foi et conviction de la récompense, ses fautes antérieures lui seront effacées». Ibn Chéhab ajouta «L'Envoyé d'Allah (salallahou alayhi wa salam) r (Sur lui la grâce et la paix d'Allah) mourut, les hommes ne cessèrent de suivre cette tradition même au temps où Abou Bakr fut calife et au début du califat de Omar Ibn Al-Khattab». وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يُرَغِّبُ فِي قِيَامِ رَمَضَانَ مِنْ غَيْرِ أَنْ يَأْمُرَ بِعَزِيمَةٍ فَيَقُولُ " مَنْ قَامَ رَمَضَانَ إِيمَانًا وَاحْتِسَابًا غُفِرَ لَهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِهِ " . قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ فَتُوُفِّيَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَالأَمْرُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ ثُمَّ كَانَ الأَمْرُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ فِي خِلاَفَةِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ وَصَدْرًا مِنْ خِلاَفَةِ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ .
Traduction anglaise
Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab from Abu Salama ibn Abd ar-Rahman ibn Awf from Abu Hurayra that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to exhort people to watch the night in prayer in Ramadan but never ordered it definitely. He used to say, "Whoever watches the night in prayer in Ramadan with trust and expectancy, will be forgiven all his previous wrong actions." Ibn Shihab said, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, died while that was still the custom, and it continued to be the custom in the caliphate of Abu Bakr and at the beginning of the caliphate of Umar ibn al-Khattab

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم رغبت دلاتے تھے لوگوں کو تراویح پڑھنے کی راتوں کو اور نہ حکم کرتے تھے بطور واجب کے تو فرماتے تھے آپ جس نے ترایح پڑھی رمضان میں اس کو حق سمجھ کر خاص اللہ کے لئے بخشے جائیں گے اگلے گناہ اس کے کہا ابن شہاب نے پس وفات ہوئی رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی اور ایسا ہی حال رہا پھر ایسا ہی حال رہا حضرت ابوبکر کی خلافت میں اور شروع شروع حضرت عمر کی خلافت میں
