كتاب صفة النبي ﷺ
Sa'id Ibn Al Moussaiab a dit: «Ibrahim (Sur lui la grâce et la paix d'Allah) était le premier (parmi les Prophètes) qui a pris l'initiative de l'hospitalité des hôtes, le premier qui s'est circoncis, le premier encore qui s'est taillé les moustaches, et le premier enfin qui a été atteint de la canitie. Il a dit: «Seigneur! Qu'est-ce que c'est»? Et Allah Y Béni et Très-Haut lui répondit: «C'est un signe de dignité, O Ibrahim». Ibrahim dit: «Seigneur! Augmente ma dignité». - Malek a dit: «De se tailler les moustaches jusqu'à ce que l'extrémité de la lèvre supérieure apparaisse, et qui est d'ailleurs le contour; cependant à ne jamais les couper d'une façon ridicule». Chapitre IV De l'interdiction de manger de la main gauche

وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ كَانَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَوَّلَ النَّاسِ ضَيَّفَ الضَّيْفَ وَأَوَّلَ النَّاسِ اخْتَتَنَ وَأَوَّلَ النَّاسِ قَصَّ الشَّارِبَ وَأَوَّلَ النَّاسِ رَأَى الشَّيْبَ فَقَالَ يَا رَبِّ مَا هَذَا فَقَالَ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى وَقَارٌ يَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ . فَقَالَ رَبِّ زِدْنِي وَقَارًا . قَالَ يَحْيَى وَسَمِعْتُ مَالِكًا يَقُولُ يُؤْخَذُ مِنَ الشَّارِبِ حَتَّى يَبْدُوَ طَرَفُ الشَّفَةِ وَهُوَ الإِطَارُ وَلاَ يَجُزُّهُ فَيُمَثِّلُ بِنَفْسِهِ .
Traduction anglaise
Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Said that Said ibn al-Musayyub said, "Ibrahim, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, was the first to give hospitality to the guest and the first person to be circumcised and the first person to trim the moustache and the first person to see grey hair. He said, 'O Lord! What is this?' Allah the Blessed, the Exalted, said, 'It is dignity, Ibrahim.' He said, 'Lord, increase me in dignity!' " Yahya said that he had heard Malik say, "One takes from the moustache until the edge of the lip appears, that is the rim. One does not cut if off completely so that one mutilates oneself

سعید بن مسیب نے کہا کہ حضرت ابراہیم ہی نے سب سے پہلے مہمان کی ضیافت کی اور سب سے پہلے ختنہ کیا اور سب سے پہلے مونچھیں کتریں اور سب سے پہلے سفید بال کو دیکھ کر کہا کہ اے پروردگار یہ کیا ہے اللہ جل جلالہ نے فرمایا یہ عزت اور وقار ہے، حضرت ابراہیم نے کہا تو اے پروردگار زیادہ عزت دے مجھ کو ۔ کہا مالک نے مونچھوں کو اتنا کترنا چاہیے کہ ہونٹ کے کنارے کھل جائیں یہ نہیں کہ بالکل کتر ڈالے۔
