كتاب الجهاد
Yahia Ibn Sa'id a rapporté que l'Envoyé d'Allah (salallahou alayhi wa salam) r (Sur lui la grâce et la paix d'Allah) incitait les hommes au combat dans la voie d'Allah, et mentionnait le Paradis. Un homme des Ansars mangeait des dattes qui se trouvaient dans sa main et dit: «Ce sera une avidité du monde d'ici-bas, si je reste passant le temps pour finir ces dattes, il les jeta, prit son épée, puis combattit jusqu'à ce qu'il fut tué»

وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم رَغَّبَ فِي الْجِهَادِ وَذَكَرَ الْجَنَّةَ وَرَجُلٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ يَأْكُلُ تَمَرَاتٍ فِي يَدِهِ فَقَالَ إِنِّي لَحَرِيصُ عَلَى الدُّنْيَا إِنْ جَلَسْتُ حَتَّى أَفْرُغَ مِنْهُنَّ . فَرَمَى مَا فِي يَدِهِ فَحَمَلَ بِسَيْفِهِ فَقَاتَلَ حَتَّى قُتِلَ .
Traduction anglaise
Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Said that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, stimulated people for jihad and mentioned the Garden. One of the Ansar was eating some dates in his hand, and said, "Am I so desirous of this world that I should sit until I finish them?" He threw aside what was in his hand and took his sword, and fought until he was slain
Traduction en ourdou
یحیی بن سعید سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے رغبیت دلائی جہاد میں اور بیان کیا جنت کا حال اتنے میں ایک شخص انصاری کھجوریں ہاتھ میں لئے ہوئے کھا رہا تھا وہ بولا مجھے بڑی حرص ہے دنیا کی اگر میں بیٹھا رہوں اس انتظار میں کہ کھجوریں کھالوں پھر کھجوریں پھینک دیں اور تلوار اٹھا کر لڑائی شروع کی اور شہید ہوا۔
