Hadith 693 — Livre 19: I'tikaf in Ramadan
كتاب الاعتكاف في رمضان
On rapporta à Malek, que Al-Kassem Ibn Mouhammad et Nafe', l'affranchi de Abdallah Ibn Omar, ont dit: «Aucune retraite spirituelle n'est faisable, sans le jeûne», et cela par renvoi aux paroles d'Allah Le Béni et Le Très-Haut (le sens): «Mangez et buvez jusqu'à ce que l'on puisse distinguer à l'aube un fil blanc d'un fil noir. Jeûnez ensuite jusqu'à la nuit. N'ayez aucun rapport avec vos femmes lorsque vous êtes en retraite dans la mosquée» Coran II, 187. Allah, a, dans ce verset, mentionné la retraite avec le jeûne». Malek a dit: «C'est d'ailleurs, ce que nous avons suivi, qu'il n'y a de retraite qu'avec le jeûne». Chapitre III La sortie du moutakif retraité pour assister à la fête

حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ أَنَّ الْقَاسِمَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَنَافِعًا، مَوْلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ قَالاَ لاَ اعْتِكَافَ إِلاَّ بِصِيَامٍ بِقَوْلِ اللَّهِ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى فِي كِتَابِهِ {وَكُلُوا وَاشْرَبُوا حَتَّى يَتَبَيَّنَ لَكُمُ الْخَيْطُ الأَبْيَضُ مِنَ الْخَيْطِ الأَسْوَدِ مِنَ الْفَجْرِ ثُمَّ أَتِمُّوا الصِّيَامَ إِلَى اللَّيْلِ وَلاَ تُبَاشِرُوهُنَّ وَأَنْتُمْ عَاكِفُونَ فِي الْمَسَاجِدِ} فَإِنَّمَا ذَكَرَ اللَّهُ الاِعْتِكَافَ مَعَ الصِّيَامِ . قَالَ مَالِكٌ وَعَلَى ذَلِكَ الأَمْرُ عِنْدَنَا أَنَّهُ لاَ اعْتِكَافَ إِلاَّ بِصِيَامٍ .
Traduction anglaise
Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that al-Qasim ibn Muhammad and Nafi, the mawla of Abdullah ibn Umar said, "You cannot do itikaf unless you are fasting, because of what Allah, the Blessed and Exalted, says in His Book, 'And eat and drink until the white thread becomes clear to you from the black thread of dawn, then complete the fast until night-time, and do not have intercourse with them while you are doing itikaf in mosques,' (Sura 2 ayat 187). Allah only mentions itikaf together with fasting." Malik said, "That is what we go by here

قاسم بن محمد اور نافع جو مولیٰ ہیں عبداللہ بن عمر کے دونوں کہتے تھے کہ اعتکاف بغیر روزے کے درست نہیں ہے کیونکہ اللہ جل جلالہ نے فرمایا اپنی کتاب میں کھاؤ اور پیو یہاں تک کہ سفید دھاری معلوم ہونے لگے سیاہ دھاری سے فجر کی تمام کرو روزوں کو رات تک اور نہ چمٹو اپنی عورتوں سے جب تم اعتکاف سے ہو مسجدوں میں تو ذکر کیا اللہ جل جلالہ نے اعتکاف کا روزے کے ساتھ ۔
