كتاب الصوم
Houmaid Ibn Abdel-Rahman Ibn Awf a rapporté qu'il a entendu Mou'awia Ibn Abi Soufian, l'année où il fit le pèlerinage, dire, le jour de Achoura, tout en étant en chaire: «Ô Médinois! où sont vos hommes versés? J'ai entendu l'Envoyé d'Allah (salallahou alayhi wa salam) r (Sur lui la grâce et la paix d'Allah) dire, au sujet de ce jour: «C'est le jour de Achoura, et Allah ne vous l'a pas prescrit, jour de jeûne. Pour moi, je le jeûne, pour vous autres, vous pouvez ou non, le jeûner»

وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ حُمَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ عَامَ حَجَّ وَهُوَ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَقُولُ يَا أَهْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ أَيْنَ عُلَمَاؤُكُمْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ لِهَذَا الْيَوْمِ " هَذَا يَوْمُ عَاشُورَاءَ وَلَمْ يُكْتَبْ عَلَيْكُمْ صِيَامُهُ وَأَنَا صَائِمٌ فَمَنْ شَاءَ فَلْيَصُمْ وَمَنْ شَاءَ فَلْيُفْطِرْ " .
Traduction anglaise
Yahya related to me from Malik from Ibn Shihab that Humayd ibn Abd ar-Rahman ibn Awf heard Muawiya ibn Abi Sufyan say from the mimbar on the day of Ashura in the year in which he made the hajj, "People of Madina, where are your learned men? I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say about this day, 'This is the day of Ashura, and fasting it has not been prescribed for you. I am fasting it, and whoever of you wants to fast it can do so, and whoever does not want to, does not have to
Traduction en ourdou
حمید بن عبدالرحمن بن عوف سے روایت ہے انہوں نے سنا معاویہ بن ابی سفیان سے کہتے تھے جس سال انہوں نے حج کیا اور وہ منبر پر تھے اے اہل مدینہ کہاں ہیں علماء تمہارے سنا میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے فرماتے تھے اس دن کو یہ دن عاشورہ کا ہے اس دن روزہ تمہارے اوپر فرض نہیں ہے اور میں روزہ دار ہوں سو جس کا جی چاہے روزہ رکھے اور جس کا جی چاہے نہ رکھے ۔ امام مالک کو پہنچا کہ حضرت عمر بن خطاب نے کہلا بھیجا حارث بن ہشام کو کہ کل عاشورے کا روزہ ہے تو روزہ رکھ اور حکم کر اپنے گھر والوں کو وہ روزہ رکھیں۔
