Hadith 6633 — Livre 45: The Book of Virtue, Enjoining Good Manners, and Joining of the Ties of Kinship

Rapporté par Humaid b. 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Auf, d’après sa mère Umm Kulthum, fille de 'Uqba b. Abu Mu'ait, qui faisait partie des premières émigrantes ayant prêté allégeance au Messager d’Allah ﷺ : Elle a entendu le Messager d’Allah ﷺ dire : « N’est pas menteur celui qui cherche à réconcilier les gens et qui dit de bonnes choses pour éviter les disputes, ou qui transmet de bonnes paroles. » Ibn Shihab a dit qu’il n’a entendu d’exception concernant le mensonge dans les paroles des gens que dans trois cas : pendant la guerre, pour réconcilier des personnes, et dans ce qu’un mari rapporte à sa femme ou une femme à son mari (en déformant les paroles pour ramener la paix entre eux)

حَدَّثَنِي حَرْمَلَةُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي يُونُسُ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي حُمَيْدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، أَنَّ أُمَّهُ أُمَّ كُلْثُومٍ بِنْتَ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ أَبِي مُعَيْطٍ، وَكَانَتْ، مِنَ الْمُهَاجِرَاتِ الأُوَلِ اللاَّتِي بَايَعْنَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّهَا سَمِعَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَهُوَ يَقُولُ " لَيْسَ الْكَذَّابُ الَّذِي يُصْلِحُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَيَقُولُ خَيْرًا وَيَنْمِي خَيْرًا " . قَالَ ابْنُ شِهَابٍ وَلَمْ أَسْمَعْ يُرَخَّصُ فِي شَىْءٍ مِمَّا يَقُولُ النَّاسُ كَذِبٌ إِلاَّ فِي ثَلاَثٍ الْحَرْبُ وَالإِصْلاَحُ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَحَدِيثُ الرَّجُلِ امْرَأَتَهُ وَحَدِيثُ الْمَرْأَةِ زَوْجَهَا .
Traduction anglaise
Humaid b. 'Abd al-Rahman b. 'Auf reported that his mother Umm Kulthum daughter of 'Uqba b. Abu Mu'ait, and she was one amongst the first emigrants who pledged allegiance to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ), as saying that she heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:A liar is not one who tries to bring reconciliation amongst people and speaks good (in order to avert dispute), or he conveys good. Ibn Shihab said he did not hear that exemption was granted in anything what the people speak as lie but in three cases: in battle, for bringing reconciliation amongst persons and the narration of the words of the husband to his wife, and the narration of the words of a wife to her husband (in a twisted form in order to bring reconciliation between them)

یونس نے ابن شہاب سے روایت کی ، انہوں نے کہا : مجھے حمید بن عبدالرحمان بن عوف نے خبر دی کہ ان کی والدہ حضرت ام کلثوم بنت عقبہ بن ابی معیط رضی اللہ عنہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ بیعت کرنے والی ان خواتین میں سے تھیں جنہوں نے سب سے پہلے ہجرت کی ۔ انہوں نے اسے ( اپنے بیٹے کو ) خبر دی کہ انہوں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا آپ فرما رہے تھے : "" وہ شخص جھوٹا نہیں جو لوگوں میں صلح کرائے اور اچھی بات کہے اور اچھی بات پہنچائے ۔ "" ابن شہاب نے کہا : لوگ جو جھوٹی باتیں کرتے ہیں ، میں نے ان میں سے تین کے سوا کسی بات کے بارے میں نہیں سنا کہ ان کی اجازت دی گئی ہے : جنگ اور جہاد میں ، لوگوں کے درمیان صلح کرانے کے لیے اور خاوند کا اپنی بیوی سے ( اسے راضی کرنے کی ) بات اور عورت کی اپنے خاوند سے ( اسے راضی کرنے کے لیے ) بات ۔
