Rapporté par Sahl b. Abu Hathma et Rafi‘ b. Khadij رضي الله عنهما : Muhayyisa b. Mas‘ud et ‘Abdullah b. Sahl sont partis vers Khaybar et se sont séparés près des palmiers. ‘Abdullah b. Sahl a été tué. Ils ont accusé les Juifs de cet acte. Le frère de la victime, ‘Abd al-Rahman, et ses cousins Huwayyisa et Muhayyisa sont venus voir le Messager d’Allah ﷺ. ‘Abd al-Rahman, le plus jeune, a parlé du meurtre de son frère. Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a dit : « Respectez l’âge des anciens » ou « Que le plus âgé commence à parler. » Alors Huwayyisa et Muhayyisa ont parlé du meurtre de leur cousin. Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a dit : « Que cinquante d’entre vous prêtent serment pour accuser quelqu’un d’eux du meurtre, et il vous sera livré. » Ils ont dit : « Nous n’avons pas été témoins de cela. Comment pourrions-nous jurer ? » Le Prophète ﷺ a dit : « Les Juifs s’innocenteront alors par les serments de cinquante d’entre eux. » Ils ont dit : « Messager d’Allah, ce sont des non-croyants. » Le Messager d’Allah ﷺ a alors payé le prix du sang pour lui. Sahl a dit : « Un jour, alors que j’étais dans l’enclos, une chamelle parmi celles données en compensation m’a frappé avec sa patte. »

وَحَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْقَوَارِيرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ بُشَيْرِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ أَبِي حَثْمَةَ، وَرَافِعِ بْنِ خَدِيجٍ، أَنَّ مُحَيِّصَةَ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ، وَعَبْدَ، اللَّهِ بْنَ سَهْلٍ انْطَلَقَا قِبَلَ خَيْبَرَ فَتَفَرَّقَا فِي النَّخْلِ فَقُتِلَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَهْلٍ فَاتَّهَمُوا الْيَهُودَ فَجَاءَ أَخُوهُ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ وَابْنَا عَمِّهِ حُوَيِّصَةُ وَمُحَيِّصَةُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَتَكَلَّمَ عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ فِي أَمْرِ أَخِيهِ وَهُوَ أَصْغَرُ مِنْهُمْ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " كَبِّرِ الْكُبْرَ - أَوْ قَالَ - لِيَبْدَإِ الأَكْبَرُ " . فَتَكَلَّمَا فِي أَمْرِ صَاحِبِهِمَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " يُقْسِمُ خَمْسُونَ مِنْكُمْ عَلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْهُمْ فَيُدْفَعُ بِرُمَّتِهِ " . قَالُوا أَمْرٌ لَمْ نَشْهَدْهُ كَيْفَ نَحْلِفُ قَالَ " فَتُبْرِئُكُمْ يَهُودُ بِأَيْمَانِ خَمْسِينَ مِنْهُمْ " . قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَوْمٌ كُفَّارٌ قَالَ فَوَدَاهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مِنْ قِبَلِهِ . قَالَ سَهْلٌ فَدَخَلْتُ مِرْبَدًا لَهُمْ يَوْمًا فَرَكَضَتْنِي نَاقَةٌ مِنْ تِلْكَ الإِبِلِ رَكْضَةً بِرِجْلِهَا . قَالَ حَمَّادٌ هَذَا أَوْ نَحْوَهُ .
Traduction anglaise
Sahl. b. Abu Hathma and Rafi' b. Khadij reported that Muhayyisa b. Mas'ud and 'Abdullah b. Sahl went towards Khaibar and they separated near the palm-trees. 'Abdullah b. Sahl was killed. They accused the Jews (for this act). And there came to Allah's Apostle (ﷺ) his brother (the brother of the slain person) 'Abd al-Rahman and his cousins Huwayyisa and Muhayyisa; and 'Abd al-Rahman talked to him about the matter pertaining to (the murder of) his brother, and he was the youngest among them. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said:Show regard for the greatness of the old, or he said: Let the eldest begin speaking. Then they (Huwayyisa and Muhayyisa) spoke about the matter of their companion (murder of their cousin, 'Abdullah b. Sahl). Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: Let fifty (persons) among you take oath for levelling the charge (of murder) against a person amongst them, and he would be surrendered to you. They said: We have not witnessed this matter ourselves. How can we then take oath? He (the Holy Prophet) said: The Jews will exonerate themselves by the oaths of fifty of them. They said: Messenger of Allah, they are non-believing people. Thereupon Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) paid the blood wit for him. Sahl said: As one day I entered the fold a she-camel amongst those camels hit me with its leg

حماد بن زید نے کہا : ہمیں یحییٰ بن سعید نے بشیر بن یسار سے ، انہوں نے سہل بن ابی حثمہ اور رافع بن خدیج سے روایت کی کہ محیصہ بن مسعود اور عبداللہ بن سہل خیبر کی طرف گئے اور ( وہاں ) کسی نخلستان میں الگ الگ ہو گئے ، عبداللہ بن سہل کو قتل کر دیا گیا تو ان لوگوں نے یہود پر الزام عائد کیا ، چنانچہ ان کے بھائی عبدالرحمان اور دو حویصہ اور محیصہ نبی صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی خدمت میں حاضر ہوئے ۔ عبدالرحمان نے اپنے بھائی کے معاملے میں بات کی ، وہ ان سب میں کم عمر تھے تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : "" بڑے کو بڑا بناؤ "" یا فرمایا : "" سب سے بڑا ( بات کا ) آغاز کرے ۔ "" ان دونوں نے اپنے ساتھی کے معاملے میں گفتگو کی تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : "" تم میں سے پچاس آدمی ان میں سے ایک آدمی پر قسمیں کھائیں گے تو وہ اپنی رسی سمیت ( جس میں وہ بندھا ہو گا ) تمہارے حوالے کر دیا جائے گا؟ "" انہوں نے کہا : یہ ایسا معاملہ ہے جو ہم نے دیکھا نہیں ، ہم کیسے حلف اٹھائیں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا : "" تو یہود اپنے پچاس آدمیوں کی قسموں سے تم کو ( تمہارے دعوے کے استحقاق سے ) الگ کر دیں گے ۔ "" انہوں نے کہا : اے اللہ کے رسول! ( وہ تو ) کافر لوگ ہیں ۔ کہا : تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کی دیت اپنی طرف سے ادا کر دی ۔ سہل نے کہا : ایک دن میں ان کے باڑے میں گیا تو ان اونٹوں میں سے ایک اونٹنی نے مجھے لات ماری ۔ حماد نے کہا : یہ یا اس کی طرح ( بات کہی)
