كتاب النكاح
Rapporté par Abou Salama : J’ai demandé à Aïcha : « Quelle était la dot des femmes du Prophète ? » Elle a répondu : « La dot qu’il donnait à ses femmes était de douze uqiyyah et un nash (d’argent). Sais-tu ce qu’est un nash ? C’est la moitié d’une uqiyyah. Cela équivaut à cinq cents dirhams. »

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْهَادِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عَائِشَةَ كَمْ كَانَ صَدَاقُ نِسَاءِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَتْ كَانَ صَدَاقُهُ فِي أَزْوَاجِهِ اثْنَتَىْ عَشْرَةَ أُوقِيَّةً وَنَشًّا هَلْ تَدْرِي مَا النَّشُّ هُوَ نِصْفُ أُوقِيَّةٍ وَذَلِكَ خَمْسُمِائَةِ دِرْهَمٍ .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that:Abu Salamah said: “I asked Aishah: 'How much was the dowry of the wives of the Prophet?' She said: 'The dowry he gave to his wives was twelve Uqiyyah and a Nash (of silver). Do you know what a Nash is? It is one half of an Uqiyyah. And that is equal to to five hundred Dirham.' ”

ابوسلمہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے پوچھا: نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی بیویوں کا مہر کیا تھا؟ انہوں نے کہا: آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی بیویوں کا مہر بارہ اوقیہ اور ایک نش تھا، تم جانتے ہو نش کیا ہے؟ یہ آدھا اوقیہ ہے، یہ کل پانچ سو درہم ہوئے ۱؎۔
