Rapporté par Qasim Abu ‘Abdur-Rahman : Il a entendu Mu’awiyah bin Abu Sufyan sur le minbar dire : « Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) disait depuis le minbar, avant le mois de Ramadan : “Le jeûne commencera tel jour, mais nous allons commencer à jeûner plus tôt, donc celui qui veut commencer à jeûner plus tôt (c’est-à-dire en Sha’ban), qu’il le fasse, et celui qui veut attendre le début du Ramadan, qu’il le fasse.” »

حَدَّثَنَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الدِّمَشْقِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْعَلاَءُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ مُعَاوِيَةَ بْنَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ يَقُولُ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يَقُولُ عَلَى الْمِنْبَرِ قَبْلَ شَهْرِ رَمَضَانَ " الصِّيَامُ يَوْمَ كَذَا وَكَذَا وَنَحْنُ مُتَقَدِّمُونَ فَمَنْ شَاءَ فَلْيَتَقَدَّمْ وَمَنْ شَاءَ فَلْيَتَأَخَّرْ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated from Qasim Abu ‘Abdur-Rahman that he heard Mu’awiyah bin Abu Sufyan on the pulpit saying:“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say from the pulpit, before the month of Ramadan: ‘Fasting will begin on such and such a day, but we are going to start fasting earlier, so whoever wants to start fasting earlier (i.e., in Sha’ban), let him do so, and whoever wants to wait until Ramadan begins, let him do so.’”

معاویہ بن ابی سفیان رضی اللہ عنہما منبر پر کہہ رہے تھے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم رمضان سے پہلے منبر پر فر مار ہے تھے: روزہ فلاں فلاں دن شروع ہو گا، اور ہم اس سے پہلے سے روزہ رکھنے والے ہیں لہٰذا جس کا جی چاہے پہلے سے روزہ رکھے، اور جس کا جی چا ہے مؤخر کرے ۱؎۔
