Hadith 1553 — Livre 6: Chapters Regarding Funerals
كتاب الجنائز
Rapporté par Sa’eed bin Musayyab : J’étais présent avec Ibn ‘Umar lors d’un enterrement. Quand le corps a été mis dans l’alvéole de la tombe, il a dit : « Bismillah wa fi sabil-illah wa ‘ala millati rasul-illah » (Au nom d’Allah, pour Allah et selon la religion du Messager d’Allah). Quand il a commencé à placer les briques dans l’alvéole, il a dit : « Allahumma ajirha min ash-shaitani wa min ‘adhabil-qabr. Allahumma Jafil-arda ‘an janbaiha, wa sa’id ruhaha, wa laqqiha minka ridwana » (« Ô Allah, protège-la du diable et du châtiment de la tombe. Ô Allah, éloigne la terre de ses deux côtés, élève son âme et accorde-lui Ta satisfaction »). J’ai demandé : « Ô Ibn ‘Umar, est-ce que tu as entendu cela du Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) ou ce sont tes propres paroles ? » Il a répondu : « J’aurais pu dire quelque chose comme cela, mais c’est bien ce que j’ai entendu du Messager d’Allah (ﷺ). »

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْكَلْبِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا إِدْرِيسُ الأَوْدِيُّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، قَالَ حَضَرْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ فِي جِنَازَةٍ فَلَمَّا وَضَعَهَا فِي اللَّحْدِ قَالَ بِسْمِ اللَّهِ وَفِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ وَعَلَى مِلَّةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ . فَلَمَّا أُخِذَ فِي تَسْوِيَةِ اللَّبِنِ عَلَى اللَّحْدِ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ أَجِرْهَا مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ وَمِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ اللَّهُمَّ جَافِ الأَرْضَ عَنْ جَنْبَيْهَا وَصَعِّدْ رُوحَهَا وَلَقِّهَا مِنْكَ رِضْوَانًا . قُلْتُ يَا ابْنَ عُمَرَ أَشَىْءٌ سَمِعْتَهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ أَمْ قُلْتَهُ بِرَأْيِكَ قَالَ إِنِّي إِذًا لَقَادِرٌ عَلَى الْقَوْلِ بَلْ شَىْءٌ سَمِعْتُهُ مِنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ .
Traduction anglaise
(It was narrated that Sa’eed bin Musayyab said:“I was present with Ibn ‘Umar at a funeral. When the body was placed in the niche-grave) he said, ‘Bismillah wa fi sabil-illah wa ‘ala millati rasul-illah’ (In the Name of Allah, for the sake of Allah and according to the religion of the Messenger of Allah). When he started to place bricks in the niche-grave he said: ‘Allahumma ajirha min ash-shaitani wa min ‘adhabil-qabr. Allahumma Jafil-arda ‘an janbaiha, wa sa’id ruhaha, wa laqqiha minka ridwana (O Allah, protect him from Satan and from the torment of the grave; O Allah, keep the earth away from his two sides and take his soul up and grant him pleasure from Yourself).’ I said: ‘O Ibn ‘Umar, is this something that you heard from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) or is it your own words?’ He said: ‘I could have said something like that, but this is something that I heard from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).’”
Traduction en ourdou
سعید بن مسیب کہتے ہیں کہ میں ابن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما کے پاس ایک جنازے میں آیا، جب انہوں نے اسے قبر میں رکھا تو کہا: «بسم الله وفي سبيل الله وعلى ملة رسول الله» اور جب قبر پر اینٹیں برابر کرنے لگے تو کہا: «اللهم أجرها من الشيطان ومن عذاب القبر اللهم جاف الأرض عن جنبيها وصعد روحها ولقها منك رضوانا» اے اللہ! تو اسے شیطان سے اور قبر کے عذاب سے بچا، اے اللہ! زمین کو اس کی پسلیوں سے کشادہ رکھ، اور اس کی روح کو اوپر چڑھا لے، اور اپنی رضا مندی اس کو نصیب فرما میں نے کہا: اے ابن عمر! یہ دعا آپ نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنی ہے، یا اپنی طرف سے پڑھی ہے؟ انہوں نے کہا: اگر ایسا ہو تو مجھے اختیار ہو گا، جو چاہوں کہوں ( حالانکہ ایسا نہیں ہے ) بلکہ اسے میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا ہے۔
