Hadith 1503 — Livre 6: Chapters Regarding Funerals
كتاب الجنائز
Rapporté par Al-Hajari : J’ai prié avec ‘Abdullah bin Abi Awfa Al-Aslami, le compagnon du Messager d’Allah (ﷺ), lors de la prière funéraire pour sa fille. Il a prononcé quatre takbir sur elle, puis il a fait une pause après le quatrième. J’ai entendu les gens dire “Subhan-Allah” dans les rangs. Ensuite, il a fait le salam et a dit : “Pensiez-vous que j’allais dire un cinquième takbir ?” Ils ont répondu : “Nous avions peur de cela.” Il a dit : “Je n’allais pas le faire, mais le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) disait quatre takbir, puis il faisait une pause, il disait ce qu’Allah voulait, puis il faisait le salam.”

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْهَجَرِيُّ، قَالَ صَلَيْتُ مَعَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي أَوْفَى الأَسْلَمِيِّ صَاحِبِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ عَلَى جِنَازَةِ ابْنَةٍ لَهُ فَكَبَّرَ عَلَيْهَا أَرْبَعًا فَمَكَثَ بَعْدَ الرَّابِعَةِ شَيْئًا . قَالَ فَسَمِعْتُ الْقَوْمَ يُسَبِّحُونَ بِهِ مِنْ نَوَاحِي الصُّفُوفِ فَسَلَّمَ ثُمَّ قَالَ أَكُنْتُمْ تُرَوْنَ أَنِّي مُكَبِّرٌ خَمْسًا قَالُوا تَخَوَّفْنَا ذَلِكَ . قَالَ لَمْ أَكُنْ لأَفْعَلَ . وَلَكِنْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ كَانَ يُكَبِّرُ أَرْبَعًا ثُمَّ يَمْكُثُ سَاعَةً فَيَقُولُ مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ أَنْ يَقُولَ ثُمَّ يُسَلِّمُ .
Traduction anglaise
Al-Hajari said:“I prayed with ‘Abdullah bin Abi Awfa Al-Aslami, the Companion of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), offering the funeral prayer for a daughter of his. He said Takbir over her four times, and he paused for a while after the fourth. I heard the people saying Subhan- Allah to him throughout the rows. Then he said the Salam and said: ‘Did you think that I was going to say a fifth Takbir?’ They said: ‘We were afraid of that.’ He said: ‘I was not going to do that, but the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to say four Takbir, then pause for a while, and he would say whatever Allah willed he should say, then he would say the Salam.’”

ابراہیم بن مسلم ہجری کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے صحابی رسول عبداللہ بن ابی اوفی اسلمی رضی اللہ عنہ کے ساتھ ان کے ایک بیٹے کی نماز جنازہ پڑھی، تو انہوں نے اس میں چار تکبیریں کہیں، چوتھی تکبیر کے بعد کچھ دیر ٹھہرے، ( اور سلام پھیرنے میں توقف کیا ) تو میں نے لوگوں کو سنا کہ وہ صف کے مختلف جانب سے «سبحان الله»کہہ رہے ہیں، انہوں نے سلام پھیرا، اور کہا: کیا تم لوگ یہ سمجھ رہے تھے کہ میں پانچ تکبیریں کہوں گا؟ لوگوں نے کہا: ہمیں اسی کا ڈر تھا، عبداللہ بن ابی اوفی رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا کہ میں ایسا کرنے والا نہیں تھا، لیکن چوں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم چار تکبیریں کہنے کے بعد کچھ دیر ٹھہرتے تھے، اور جو اللہ توفیق دیتا وہ پڑھتے تھے، پھر سلام پھیرتے تھے۔
