كتاب إقامة الصلاة والسنن فيها
Rapporté par ‘Abdullah bin Abu Qatadah, d’après son père : Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit : « Je me lève pour prier en voulant la faire longue, mais j’entends un bébé pleurer, alors je la raccourcis, car je n’aime pas déranger sa mère. »

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ، وَبِشْرُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، عَنِ الأَوْزَاعِيِّ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " إِنِّي لأَقُومُ فِي الصَّلاَةِ وَأَنَا أُرِيدُ أَنْ أُطَوِّلَ فِيهَا فَأَسْمَعُ بُكَاءَ الصَّبِيِّ فَأَتَجَوَّزُ كَرَاهِيَةَ أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمِّهِ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated from ‘Abdullah bin Abu Qatadah that his father said:“The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘I get up to perform prayer and I intend to make it long, but then I hear an infant crying, so I make it short, because I do not like to cause distress to his mother.’”

ابوقتادہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: میں نماز کے لیے کھڑا ہوتا ہوں اور چاہتا ہوں کہ اس کو لمبی کروں، اتنے میں بچے کے رونے کی آواز سن لیتا ہوں تو اس ڈر سے نماز ہلکی کر دیتا ہوں کہ اس کی ماں پریشان نہ ہو جائے ۔
