كتاب إقامة الصلاة والسنن فيها
Rapporté par Abu Wa’il, d’après ‘Abdullah : J’ai prié une nuit avec le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) et il est resté debout si longtemps que j’ai pensé à faire quelque chose de mal. J’ai demandé : « Qu’est-ce que c’était ? » Il a répondu : « J’ai pensé m’asseoir et le laisser continuer. »

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَامِرِ بْنِ زُرَارَةَ، وَسُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْهِرٍ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَلَمْ يَزَلْ قَائِمًا حَتَّى هَمَمْتُ بِأَمْرِ سَوْءٍ . قُلْتُ وَمَا ذَاكَ الأَمْرُ قَالَ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ أَجْلِسَ وَأَتْرُكَهُ .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated from Abu Wa’il that ‘Abdullah said:“I prayed one night with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and he kept standing until I thought of doing something bad.” I said: “What was that?”He said: “I thought of sitting down and leaving him.”

عبداللہ بن مسعود رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک رات میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ نماز پڑھی، آپ برابر کھڑے رہے یہاں تک کہ میں نے ایک برے کام کا ارادہ کر لیا، ( راوی ابووائل کہتے ہیں: ) میں نے پوچھا: وہ کیا؟ کہا: میں نے یہ ارادہ کر لیا کہ میں بیٹھ جاؤں، اور آپ کو ( کھڑا ) چھوڑ دوں
