كتاب إقامة الصلاة والسنن فيها
Rapporté par ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr : J’ai mémorisé le Coran et je l’ai récité en entier en une nuit. Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit : « J’ai peur que tu ne vives longtemps et que tu te lasses. Récite-le sur une période d’un mois. » J’ai dit : « Laisse-moi profiter de ma force dans ma jeunesse. » Il a dit : « Récite-le en dix jours. » J’ai dit : « Laisse-moi profiter de ma force et de ma jeunesse. » Il a dit : « Récite-le en sept jours. » J’ai dit : « Laisse-moi profiter de ma force et de ma jeunesse, » mais il a refusé d’aller plus loin

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ خَلاَّدٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ حَكِيمِ بْنِ صَفْوَانَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ جَمَعْتُ الْقُرْآنَ فَقَرَأْتُهُ كُلَّهُ فِي لَيْلَةٍ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " إِنِّي أَخْشَى أَنْ يَطُولَ عَلَيْكَ الزَّمَانُ وَأَنْ تَمَلَّ فَاقْرَأْهُ فِي شَهْرٍ " . فَقُلْتُ دَعْنِي أَسْتَمْتِعْ مِنْ قُوَّتِي وَشَبَابِي . قَالَ " فَاقْرَأْهُ فِي عَشْرَةٍ " . قُلْتُ دَعْنِي أَسْتَمْتِعْ مِنْ قُوَّتِي وَشَبَابِي . قَالَ " فَاقْرَأْهُ فِي سَبْعٍ " . قُلْتُ دَعْنِي أَسْتَمْتِعْ مِنْ قُوَّتِي وَشَبَابِي . فَأَبَى .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr said:“I memorized the Qur’an and recited it all in one night. The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: ‘I am afraid that you may live a long life and that you may get bored. Recite it over the period of a month.’ I said: ‘Let me benefit from my strength in my youth.’ He said: ‘Recite it in ten days.’ I said: ‘Let me benefit from my strength and my youth.’ He said: ‘Recite it in seven days.’ I said: ‘Let me benefit from my strength and my youth,’ but he refused (to alter it any further).”
Traduction en ourdou
عبداللہ بن عمرو رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے قرآن حفظ کیا، اور پورا قرآن ایک ہی رات میں پڑھنے کی عادت بنا لی، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: مجھے ڈر ہے کہ کچھ ہی عرصہ گزرنے کے بعد تم اکتا جاؤ گے، لہٰذا تم اسے ایک مہینے میں پڑھا کرو میں نے کہا: مجھے اپنی قوت اور جوانی سے فائدہ اٹھانے دیجئیے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تو دس دن میں پڑھا کرو میں نے کہا: مجھے اپنی قوت اور جوانی سے فائدہ اٹھانے دیجئیے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ٹھیک ہے تو سات دن میں پڑھا کرو میں نے کہا: مجھے اپنی قوت اور جوانی سے فائدہ اٹھانے دیجئیے، تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے انکار کر دیا ۱؎۔
