Hadith 1065 — Livre 5: Establishing the Prayer and the Sunnah Regarding Them
كتاب إقامة الصلاة والسنن فيها
Rapporté par Ya’la bin Umayyah : J’ai demandé à ‘Umar bin Khattab : “Allah dit : ‘Et quand vous voyagez sur la terre, il n’y a pas de mal à raccourcir la prière si vous craignez que les mécréants ne vous attaquent. En vérité, les mécréants sont pour vous des ennemis déclarés’ [4:101]. Mais maintenant, il y a la sécurité et les gens sont en paix.” Il a répondu : “J’ai trouvé cela étrange comme toi, alors j’ai interrogé le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) à ce sujet, et il a dit : ‘C’est une aumône qu’Allah vous a accordée, acceptez donc Son aumône.’”

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَمَّارٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بَابَيْهِ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ أُمَيَّةَ، قَالَ سَأَلْتُ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ قُلْتُ لَيْسَ عَلَيْكُمْ جُنَاحٌ أَنْ تَقْصُرُوا مِنَ الصَّلاَةِ إِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَنْ يَفْتِنَكُمُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا وَقَدْ أَمِنَ النَّاسُ فَقَالَ عَجِبْتُ مِمَّا عَجِبْتَ مِنْهُ فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ " صَدَقَةٌ تَصَدَّقَ اللَّهُ بِهَا عَلَيْكُمْ، فَاقْبَلُوا صَدَقَتَهُ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that Ya’la bin Umayyah said:“I asked ‘Umar bin Khattab: ‘Allah says: “And when you travel in the land, there is no sin on you if you shorten the prayer if you fear that the disbelievers may put you in trial (attack you), verily, the disbelievers are ever to you open enemies,” [4:101] but now there is security and people are safe.’ He said: ‘I found it strange just as you do, so I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about that, and he said: “It is charity that Allah has bestowed upon you, so accept His charity.”
Traduction en ourdou
یعلیٰ بن امیہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ عنہ سے سوال کیا، میں نے کہا: اللہ تعالیٰ فرماتا ہے «ليس عليكم جناح أن تقصروا من الصلاة إن خفتم أن يفتنكم الذين كفروا» نماز قصر کرنے میں تمہارے اوپر کوئی گناہ نہیں اگر کافروں کی فتنہ انگیزیوں کا ڈر ہو ( سورۃ النساء: ۱۰۱ ) ، اب اس وقت تو لوگ مامون ( امن و امان میں ) ہو گئے ہیں؟ انہوں نے کہا: جس بات پر تمہیں تعجب ہوا مجھے بھی اسی پر تعجب ہوا تھا، تو میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے اس سلسلے میں سوال کیا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: یہ صدقہ ہے، جو اللہ تعالیٰ نے تم پر کیا ہے، لہٰذا تم اس کے صدقہ کو قبول کرو ۱؎۔
