Rapporté par Ibn Umm Maktum : J’ai dit au Prophète ﷺ : « Je suis un vieil homme et je suis aveugle ; ma maison est loin et je n’ai personne pour me guider. Y a-t-il une dispense pour moi de ne pas venir à la mosquée ? » Il a dit : « Entends-tu l’appel ? » J’ai répondu : « Oui. » Il a dit : « Alors je ne trouve aucune dispense pour toi. »

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي رَزِينٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ أُمِّ مَكْتُومٍ، قَالَ قُلْتُ لِلنَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ إِنِّي كَبِيرٌ ضَرِيرٌ شَاسِعُ الدَّارِ وَلَيْسَ لِي قَائِدٌ يُلاَوِمُنِي فَهَلْ تَجِدُ لِي مِنْ رُخْصَةٍ قَالَ " هَلْ تَسْمَعُ النِّدَاءَ " . قُلْتُ نَعَمْ . قَالَ " مَا أَجِدُ لَكَ رُخْصَةً " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that Ibn Umm Maktum said:"I said to the Prophet: 'I am an old man and blind; my house is far away, and I have no one to lead me. Is there any concession (for me not to have to attend the prayer in the mosque)?' He said: 'Can you hear the call?' I said: 'Yes.' He said: 'Then I do not find any concession for you
Traduction en ourdou
عبداللہ ابن ام مکتوم رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ میں نے نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کہا: میں بوڑھا اور نابینا ہوں، میرا گھر دور ہے اور مجھے مسجد تک لانے والا میرے مناسب حال کوئی آدمی بھی نہیں ہے، تو کیا آپ میرے لیے ( جماعت سے غیر حاضری کی ) کوئی رخصت پاتے ہیں؟ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: کیا تم اذان سنتے ہو؟ ، میں نے کہا: جی ہاں، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: میں تمہارے لیے کوئی رخصت نہیں پاتا ۱؎۔
