كتاب اللباس
Rapporté par Wa’il bin Hujr : Le Prophète (ﷺ) m’a vu alors que j’avais les cheveux longs. Il a dit : “Mauvaise nouvelle, mauvaise nouvelle !” Alors je suis parti les couper courts. Ensuite, le Prophète (ﷺ) m’a revu et a dit : “Je ne parlais pas de toi, mais c’est mieux ainsi.”

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، وَسُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ وَائِلِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ، قَالَ رَآنِيَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ وَلِي شَعَرٌ طَوِيلٌ فَقَالَ " ذُبَابٌ ذُبَابٌ " . فَانْطَلَقْتُ فَأَخَذْتُهُ فَرَآنِيَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَقَالَ " إِنِّي لَمْ أَعْنِكَ وَهَذَا أَحْسَنُ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that Wa’il bin Hujr said:“The Prophet (ﷺ) saw me when I had long hair. He said: ‘Bad news, bad news!’ So I went away and cut it short. Then the Prophet (ﷺ) saw me and said: ‘I did not mean you, but this is better.’”
Traduction en ourdou
وائل بن حجر رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھے دیکھا کہ میرے بال لمبے ہیں تو فرمایا: منحوس ہے منحوس ، یہ سن کر میں چلا آیا، اور میں نے بالوں کو چھوٹا کیا، پھر جب نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے مجھے دیکھا تو فرمایا: میں نے تم کو نہیں کہا تھا، ویسے یہ بال زیادہ اچھے ہیں ۱؎۔
