Hadith 3583 — Livre 32: Chapters on Dress
كتاب اللباس
Rapporté par ‘Aishah : Le Prophète (ﷺ), à propos de la longueur du bas de la robe d’une femme, a dit : « Une largeur de main. » ‘Aishah a dit : « Cela pourrait montrer ses mollets. » Il a dit : « Alors une longueur d’avant-bras. »

Texte arabe original
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَبِيبٌ الْمُعَلِّمُ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَزِّمِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ فِي ذُيُولِ النِّسَاءِ " شِبْرًا " . فَقَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ إِذًا تَخْرُجَ سُوقُهُنَّ . قَالَ " فَذِرَاعٌ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated from ‘Aishah that the Prophet (ﷺ) said, concerning how long a woman’s hem should hang down:“A hand span.” ‘Aishah said: “This may show her calves.” He said: “Then a forearm’s length.”

ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے عورتوں کے دامن کے سلسلے میں فرمایا: ایک بالشت کا ہو ام المؤمنین عائشہ رضی اللہ عنہا نے عرض کیا کہ اتنے میں تو پنڈلی کھل جائے گی؟ فرمایا: تو پھر ایک ہاتھ ہو ۔
