كتاب اللباس
Rapporté par Ibn `Umar : Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a vu ‘Umar porter une chemise blanche et il a dit : « Ce vêtement est-il lavé ou neuf ? » Il répondit : « Il a été lavé. » Il dit : « Ilbas jadida, wa ‘ish hamida, wa mut shahida (Porte des vêtements neufs, vis honorablement et meurs en martyr). »

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ رَأَى عَلَى عُمَرَ قَمِيصًا أَبْيَضَ فَقَالَ " ثَوْبُكَ هَذَا غَسِيلٌ أَمْ جَدِيدٌ " . قَالَ لاَ بَلْ غَسِيلٌ . قَالَ " الْبَسْ جَدِيدًا وَعِشْ حَمِيدًا وَمُتْ شَهِيدًا " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated from Ibn `Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saw `Umar wearing a white shirt and he said:“Is this garment of yours washed or a new one?” He said: “Rather it has been washed.” He said: “Ilbas jadida, wa `ish hamida, wa mut shahida (May you wear new clothes, live a good life and die as martyr).”

عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ عنہما سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے عمر رضی اللہ عنہ کو ایک سفید قمیص پہنے دیکھا تو پوچھا: تمہارا یہ کپڑا دھویا ہوا ہے یا نیا ہے ؟ انہوں نے جواب دیا: نہیں، یہ دھویا ہوا ہے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: «البس جديدا وعش حميدا ومت شهيدا» نیا لباس، قابل تعریف زندگی، اور شہادت کی موت نصیب ہو ۔
