Rapporté par Anas bin Malik : Le Messager d’Allah (ﷺ) a dit à Aktham bin Al-Jawn Al-Khuza’i : « Ô Aktham ! Combats avec des gens autres que les tiens, cela améliorera ton comportement et te rendra généreux envers tes compagnons. Ô Aktham, le meilleur nombre de compagnons est quatre, le meilleur nombre de combattants dans une expédition est quatre cents, le meilleur nombre dans une armée est quatre mille, et douze mille ne seront jamais vaincus à cause de leur petit nombre. »

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّنْعَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ الْعَامِلِيُّ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ لأَكْثَمَ بْنِ الْجَوْنِ الْخُزَاعِيِّ " يَا أَكْثَمُ اغْزُ مَعَ غَيْرِ قَوْمِكَ يَحْسُنْ خُلُقُكَ وَتَكْرُمْ عَلَى رُفَقَائِكَ يَا أَكْثَمُ خَيْرُ الرُّفَقَاءِ أَرْبَعَةٌ وَخَيْرُ السَّرَايَا أَرْبَعُمِائَةٍ وَخَيْرُ الْجُيُوشِ أَرْبَعَةُ آلاَفٍ وَلَنْ يُغْلَبَ اثْنَا عَشَرَ أَلْفًا مِنْ قِلَّةٍ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to Aktham bin Al-Jawn Al-Khuza’i:“O Aktham! Fight alongside people other than your own, it will improve your attitude and make you generous to your companions. O Aktham, the best number of companions is four, the best number of troops on an expedition is four hundred, the best number of an army is four thousand, and twelve thousand will never be overpowered because of their small number.”
Traduction en ourdou
انس بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے اکثم بن جون خزاعی رضی اللہ عنہ سے فرمایا: اکثم! اپنی قوم کے علاوہ دوسرے لوگوں کے ہمراہ جہاد کرو، تمہارے اخلاق اچھے ہو جائیں گے، اور تمہارے ساتھیوں میں تمہاری عزت ہو گی، اکثم! چار ساتھی بہتر ہیں، بہترین دستہ چار سو سپاہیوں کا ہے، اور بہترین لشکر چار ہزار کا ہے، نیز بارہ ہزار کا لشکر کبھی کم تعداد کی وجہ سے مغلوب نہیں ہو گا ۔
