كتاب الحدود
Rapporté par Abu Hurairah : Ma`iz bin Malik est venu voir le Prophète (ﷺ) et a dit : “J’ai commis la fornication”, et le Prophète (ﷺ) s’est détourné de lui. Il a répété : “J’ai commis la fornication”, et il s’est encore détourné. Il l’a dit une troisième fois, puis une quatrième fois, et à ce moment-là, le Prophète (ﷺ) a ordonné qu’il soit lapidé. Pendant qu’il recevait les pierres, il s’est enfui, mais un homme l’a rattrapé avec une mâchoire de chameau à la main, l’a frappé et il est tombé. On a rapporté au Prophète (ﷺ) qu’il avait fui sous les pierres, et il a dit : “Pourquoi ne l’avez-vous pas laissé partir ?”

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ جَاءَ مَاعِزُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم . فَقَالَ إِنِّي قَدْ زَنَيْتُ . فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنِّي قَدْ زَنَيْتُ فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ . ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنِّي زَنَيْتُ . فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ . ثُمَّ قَالَ قَدْ زَنَيْتُ . فَأَعْرَضَ عَنْهُ حَتَّى أَقَرَّ أَرْبَعَ مَرَّاتٍ فَأَمَرَ بِهِ أَنْ يُرْجَمَ . فَلَمَّا أَصَابَتْهُ الْحِجَارَةُ أَدْبَرَ يَشْتَدُّ فَلَقِيَهُ رَجُلٌ بِيَدِهِ لَحْىُ جَمَلٍ فَضَرَبَهُ فَصَرَعَهُ فَذُكِرَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِرَارُهُ حِينَ مَسَّتْهُ الْحِجَارَةُ قَالَ " فَهَلاَّ تَرَكْتُمُوهُ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:“Ma`iz bin Malik came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: 'I have committed fornication,' and he (the Prophet (ﷺ)) turned away from him. He said: 'I have committed fornication,' and he turned away from him. Then, he said: I have committed fornication, and he turned away from him, until when he had confessed four times, he ordered that he should be stoned. When he was being struck with the stones, he ran away, but a man caught up with him who had a camel's jawbone in his hand; he struck him and he fell down. The Prophet (ﷺ) was told about how he fled when the stones hit him and he said: 'Why did you not let him be?'”

ابوہریرہ رضی اللہ عنہ کہتے ہیں کہ ماعز بن مالک رضی اللہ عنہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے پاس آئے، اور کہا: میں نے زنا کیا ہے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ان کی طرف سے منہ پھیر لیا، انہوں نے پھر کہا: میں نے زنا کیا ہے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پھر منہ پھیر لیا، انہوں نے پھر کہا: میں نے زنا کیا ہے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پھر منہ پھیر لیا، انہوں نے پھر کہا: میں نے زنا کیا ہے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے پھر منہ پھیر لیا یہاں تک کہ چار بار زنا کا اقرار کیا، تو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے حکم دیا کہ انہیں رجم کر دیا جائے، چنانچہ جب ان پر پتھر پڑے تو وہ پیٹھ پھیر کر بھاگنے لگے، ایک شخص نے انہیں پا لیا، اس کے ہاتھ میں اونٹ کے جبڑے کی ہڈی تھی، اس نے ماعز کو مار کر گرا دیا، پتھر پڑتے وقت ان کے بھاگنے کا تذکرہ جب نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے کیا گیا تو آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: آخر تم نے انہیں چھوڑ کیوں نہ دیا ؟۔
