كتاب الطهارة وسننها
Rapporté par Abu Umamah : Le Messager d'Allah ﷺ a dit : "Utilisez le bâtonnet à dents, car il purifie la bouche et plaît au Seigneur. Jibril ne m'est jamais venu sans me recommander d'utiliser le bâtonnet à dents, jusqu'à ce que j'aie craint que cela ne devienne obligatoire pour moi et pour ma communauté. Si je ne craignais pas que ce soit trop difficile pour ma communauté, je l'aurais imposé. Et j'utilise le bâtonnet à dents au point de craindre d'irriter l'avant de ma bouche (c'est-à-dire mes gencives) ou de faire tomber mes dents à force de les brosser si souvent

حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي الْعَاتِكَةِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ " تَسَوَّكُوا فَإِنَّ السِّوَاكَ مَطْهَرَةٌ لِلْفَمِ مَرْضَاةٌ لِلرَّبِّ وَمَا جَاءَنِي جِبْرِيلُ إِلاَّ أَوْصَانِي بِالسِّوَاكِ حَتَّى لَقَدْ خَشِيتُ أَنْ يُفْرَضَ عَلَىَّ وَعَلَى أُمَّتِي وَلَوْلاَ أَنِّي أَخَافُ أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى أُمَّتِي لَفَرَضْتُهُ لَهُمْ وَإِنِّي لأَسْتَاكُ حَتَّى لَقَدْ خَشِيتُ أَنْ أُحْفِيَ مَقَادِمَ فَمِي " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated from Abu Umamah that:The Messenger of Allah said: "Use the tooth stick, for the tooth stick purifies the mouth and is pleasing to the Lord. Jibril never came to me but he advised me to use the tooth stick, until I feared that it would be made obligatory for me and my Ummah. Were it not that I fear that it would be too difficult for my Ummah, I would have enjoined it upon them. And I use the tooth stick until I fear that I may make the front of my mouth sore.' (i.e. my gums) (or cause my teeth to fall out due to brushing them so often)
Traduction en ourdou
ابوامامہ رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: مسواک کرو اس لیے کہ مسواک منہ کو پاک کرنے کا ذریعہ اور اللہ تعالیٰ کی رضا مندی کا سبب ہے، جبرائیل جب بھی میرے پاس آئے تو انہوں نے مجھے مسواک کی وصیت کی، یہاں تک کہ مجھے ڈر ہوا کہ کہیں میرے اور میری امت کے اوپر اسے فرض نہ کر دیا جائے، اور اگر یہ بات نہ ہوتی کہ مجھے ڈر ہے کہ میں اپنی امت کو مشقت میں ڈال دوں گا تو امت پر مسواک کو فرض کر دیتا، اور میں خود اس قدر مسواک کرتا ہوں کہ مجھے ڈر ہونے لگتا ہے کہ کہیں میں اپنے مسوڑھوں کو نہ چھیل ڈالوں ۔
