المقدمة (كتاب السنة)
Rapporté par Jabir bin 'Abdullah : Le Prophète a dit : « Ne cherchez pas la connaissance pour vous vanter devant les savants, pour discuter avec les ignorants, ou pour obtenir la meilleure place dans une assemblée grâce à elle. Celui qui fait cela, le Feu, le Feu (l’attend). »

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، أَنْبَأَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ " لاَ تَعَلَّمُوا الْعِلْمَ لِتُبَاهُوا بِهِ الْعُلَمَاءَ وَلاَ لِتُمَارُوا بِهِ السُّفَهَاءَ وَلاَ تَخَيَّرُوا بِهِ الْمَجَالِسَ فَمَنْ فَعَلَ ذَلِكَ فَالنَّارُ النَّارُ " .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated from Jabir bin 'Abdullah that:The Prophet said: "Do not seek knowledge in order to show off in front of the scholars, or to argue with the foolish, and do not choose the best seat in a gathering, due to it (i.e. the knowledge which you have learned) for whoever does that, the Fire, the Fire (awaits him)
Traduction en ourdou
جابر بن عبداللہ رضی اللہ عنہما کہتے ہیں کہ نبی اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: تم علم کو علماء پر فخر کرنے یا کم عقلوں سے بحث و تکرار کے لیے نہ سیکھو، اور علم دین کو مجالس میں اچھے مقام کے حصول کا ذریعہ نہ بناؤ، جس نے ایسا کیا تو اس کے لیے جہنم ہے، جہنم ۱؎۔
