المقدمة (كتاب السنة)
Rapporté par ‘Abbad bin ‘Abdullah : ‘Ali a dit : « Je suis le serviteur d’Allah et le frère de Son Messager. Je suis le plus véridique (Siddiq Akbar), et personne ne dira cela après moi sauf un menteur. J’ai prié pendant sept ans avant les gens. »

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الرَّازِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، أَنْبَأَنَا الْعَلاَءُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنِ الْمِنْهَالِ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ أَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، وَأَخُو، رَسُولِهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ وَأَنَا الصِّدِّيقُ الأَكْبَرُ، لاَ يَقُولُهَا بَعْدِي إِلاَّ كَذَّابٌ صَلَّيْتُ قَبْلَ النَّاسِ لِسَبْعِ سِنِينَ .
Traduction anglaise
It was narrated that 'Abbad bin 'Abdullah said:"'Ali said: 'I am the slave of Allah and the brother of His Messenger. I am the greatest teller of the truth (Siddiq Akbar), and no one will say this after me except a liar. I prayed seven years before the people

عباد بن عبداللہ کہتے ہیں کہ علی رضی اللہ عنہ نے کہا: میں اللہ کا بندہ اور اس کے رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا بھائی ہوں، اور میں صدیق اکبر ہوں، میرے بعد اس فضیلت کا دعویٰ جھوٹا شخص ہی کرے گا، میں نے سب لوگوں سے سات برس پہلے نماز پڑھی
